Was anyone else on Flt 700 from Boca yesterday??
If so, do you know what happened?
Strange passenger boards right after FC was seated...young white guy with a scraggly beard confers with the FA in the front galley. Then he wanders to row 3 and stares at the person sitting in 3A. The FA walks over and ask what seat he was looking for and he replied "3F". So he turns around and stares at the person seated in 3F. The FA asked to see his boarding pass, which he produced in the form of a crumpled ball. The FA looks at it and tells him his seat is 21B and escorts him to the back.
At this point, all boarding stops for a good 5 minutes. Then, back he comes, being escorted up and off the plane altogether, then boarding resumes. Some comments were that he was drunk, but he wasn't stumbling, raving, or anything obvious.
I'm just curious what the real story was.

Sounds like a drunk - and an annoying one at that.

The right side seat of the Beech 1900s that Gulfstream flies as Continental Connection is "F". So 3F sounds like an economy seat on a flight from somewhere like MHH or Key West. It's likely the passenger confused his EYW-FLL and FLL-EWR seat assignments.
If the boarding passes were crumpled up, maybe the GA used the sequence number instead when the bar code wouldn't scan, and then the passenger who actually had that sequence number on the FLL-EWR flight made the computer hold up the boarding process?
The confused passenger may have boarded on the wrong FLL-EWR flight (there were two more later that day). So the wrong sequence number could have been from the wrong segment or from the wrong Newark flight. If he never got back on your flight, the latter sounds likely.

OK, I think your conclusion is the right one.

Maybe they mean FLL or PBI? The OP clearly says "FC" which would imply a mainline jet.

Whoops! Sorry, I was in Boca, but then flew out of Fort Lauderdale. This was a 4-row 1st class, something-row econ.

The funny thing is, I didn't even realize the "Boca" mistake at first. As someone who flies down there frequently, it sounded pretty natural to me.

That would prove to be a very interesting seatmate...
I've seen an inebriated fellow escorted off the plane once (I think he was to sit next to me)... we get quite a few workers who indulge in beverages after leaving the oil fields heading back to the lower 48...

Well Boca would have been more convenient to visit my FIL. Guess I'm stuck with FLL or PBI still.
