Extra Mile - bonus calculation query
I'm a bit confused about the extra mile calculation. I thought the bonus was meant to be based on the actual miles flown? From the T&C "Mileage bonuses are based on actual flight miles posted to your account. "
However, I recently flew EWR-TLV for a total (each way) of 8,538 miles flown plus I received a Platinum Elite bonus of 5,692 miles.
Then the Extra Mile bonus was 2,846 miles ie half of the Elite Bonus but only 33% of the actual miles.
Anyone else have this issue? Am i misunderstanding how this works or is CO in error.

EWR-TLV is 5,692 miles each way.
Your plat elite bonus should be 100%, or 5,692 each way.
Your extra mile bonus should be 50%, or 2,846 each way.
8,538 is the sum of 5,692 and 2,846, so it sounds like you're adding the base miles (5,692) and the extra mile miles (2,846) to come up with your one-way total, but the one way actual miles are 5,692.
You should receive 5,692 (base) + 5,692 (elite) + 2,846 (extra mile) = 14,230 each way.
Your plat elite bonus should be 100%, or 5,692 each way.
