Question: Security experience UK to NYC

Has anybody traveled post Dec 25 on LHR - EWR? A couple of questions regarding your experiences;

-Was there a mandatory personal search?

-Was there a segregated line or bypass line for Premium/OnePass members?

many thanks!

EDI to EWR

Not quite the same routing as OP requested but traveled from EDI to EWR on 28 Dec and there was mandatory secondary screening patdown and bag search for all pax and no there was no by-pass line for Elites. Flight was about 75 min late out of EDI as a result.

There is no 'bypass' line for elites - nobody bypasses the security procedures.

There is a separate queue for Elite Access - Businessfirst, Onepass Platinum, Star Alliance Gold, boarding passes with 'Elite Access' on them.

There is a mandatory body search and mandatory bag search. Well, I say mandatory, but you can always refuse. You wont be flying if you do though.....

...and please, no jokes about being given your bags by Osama Bin Laden, or that your 'mate' Al Qaeda helped you pack. You will be spending time in a cell if you do....it's not funny.

This SO belongs in TS/S, as sbm12 (a mod for that group) will tell you.
