Welcome to FT!

The EWR-HNL (and also IAH-HNL) route is considered a BusinessFirst route, and as such, there are no EUAs given on that route. The only way you will be able to upgrade is to buy up, or spend miles.

Although you can buy up to the front for cash only (no miles) 24 hours in advance if there is available space. check this post in the FAQs for more details.

Off-topic, but still CO 15-ish.
If I book EWR-HNL as a OnePass reward, am I permitted a stopover in LA on the outbound trip? It's not an option on co.com, but I remain hopeful.
I guess I wouldn't be on C) 15 at all, if I stop in LA.

Thanks.

the next time the OP could fly NY-LA either non-stop or via IAH (either way a very hard UP to be had) and then LAX-HNL or fly tthru SNA. Since these arent BF flights EUA will be done for free, now teh cahnces of getting EUAed well thats something else

Anyone experience the odds of miles (+$) upgrade on EWR to HNL? I'm Plat, GF is silver. Heading over in March or April.
