Purchasing and Upgrade - Worth it?

I have just purchased tickets to attend a wedding in Dallas the first week of Janurary. Since I am still on leave from Jetblue I can't non-rev (legally anyways). However the tickets were only $188 roundtrip PVD-EWR-DFW-CLE-PVD. The only leg that could be upgraded is the EWR-DFW as it is on a 737. The rest are on the ever wonderful jungle jets. Is it worth it to purchase the upgrade on the EWR-DFW leg?

You are looking at 15K miles plus cash, right? No way I would take that deal.

That was my other thought. Flights aren't that full after the holidays so I could just stay in the back and spread out.

^ That sounds like a plan, i'd still checkin at T-24 of the first leg to snag myself a 12A on jungle jets. That is actually not a bad seat.

I'm not so sure about that, I'm thinking that the airlines have cut capacity so much that the flights will be full because I am on a flight the first week of January from GUA-CLT via IAH and almost every seat on the entire plane is full.

Going off the ever accurate seat maps the PVD-EWR flight is booked to 98%. Right now the EWR-DFW is about 50-60%. Both regional flights back are booked to about 60% right now. Granted it is still 4 weeks away so I'd expect it to fill up more as the weeks go on. I was suprised at the price of $188 roundtrip (before taxes).
