Premium Seating and changing *A Program number question
Hello,
I am going to be booking some flights on CO in the next couple of days and I am currently a CO Gold which will expire in Feb 10 with no chance of a renewal for me given my current flying pattern.
If I do a dummy booking using my current status I can select a premium seat. When my status expires would I get dumped out of this premium seat?
Also, if I use my CO Gold to reserve a premium seat and at a later date change my FFP number to my BD number would I be bumped out of the premium seat?
I realise seat assignments are not guaranteed and could be changed for a number of reasons but maybe better to guarantee a window non-premium seat than get moved from a premium seat into a middle seat due to status change/FFP number change.
Thanks
LL

If you already reserved a Blue Seat in front of Y, or the Exit Row, they will NOT throw you out when your status evaporates. I am not sure what this means (Also, if I use my CO Gold to reserve a premium seat and at a later date change my FFP number to my BD number) but you will not be shifted out of your seat unless you cancel your ticket.

They won't change your seat for that reason. If there is an aircraft swap or some other reason that seats get reassigned you'll be placed based on the current status in the reservation at the time of that event.

As *G will I be able to preassign seats in the "reserved for elite members" area. We will be a family of four travelling together in one booking. - Or can I "only" choose regular seats?
Thanks,
H.J.

Remember that there is no difference in pitch / legroom, etc in those "premium" seats. The only thing "premium" about those seats are that they are in the front of the aircraft.

Thanks - I'm not looking for exit rows (travelling with children) - just seat in front of the plane. The routing I'm going to take is EWR-HNL and HNL-IAH; both B767-400.
What I understand, seating, in terms of pitch, is the same throughout the aircraft?
A little bit OT - does CO still offer complementary food domestic?

Complimentary meals in mealtime will disappear soon for continental US flights.
However, EWR-HNL / HNL-IAH flights will definitely have food. You can also order special meals on those flights.

*G dont get premium seating such as Exit Rows (unless you pay for them at OLCI). Prior to OLCI, exit rows are available for CO Golds and Plats. With respect to "reserved for Elite members"...those seats are AFAIK, not available for *G...only for CO Elites. However, you can call and ask and see if you get lucky.
