Beef Jerky

Ok only mildly CO-related but this is probably still the best place to put it because I'm asking about CO's hubs: any cheap beef jerky to be had at EWR, IAH or DEN? It's not available in my country and I've a few friends I'd like to bring some (read: a lot) jerky back to. So far all I've ever found in airports is Jack Link's, and that's very expensive when you're talking, 5-10 packs!

I'm doing a quick turn DUB-EWR-IAH-DEN-IAH-EWR-DUB so airports are my only option (unless there's an easy to get to 24-hr place in Denver I could stock up at).

As always thanks in advance

If you have time to can get out of DIA, there is always 24hrs Walmart you can stock up beef jerky.

The closest I found is this one
Wal-Mart Supercenter Store #5334
3301 North Tower Road
Aurora, CO 80011
(720) 374-0278

Which is about 16mi from DIA, not exactly closed but DIA really has nothing closed by anyway.

There is but one answer, and it comes in the form of Big John's Beef Jerky. They ship internationally and it is simply some of the best jerky around.

I believe Chelsea catering can stock you up with Mr. Z's for the next decade.

You're not, by chance, planning on feeding this to a dog are you?

Store-bought jerky is expensive; at an airport it would really be expensive. How about some homemade jerky?

Maybe you could find someone traveling through EWR, IAH or DEN when you are? They could pre-buy it and sell it to 'ya at the airport? When are you in IAH... maybe I'll even be there.

I would just add, you get what you pay for with jerky! The cheapest stuff is often tough and disgusting.

As far as cost, keep in mind it takes 4 pounds of raw beef to make 1 pound of jerky

Thanks, probably my best option right now.

Their shipping drop-down only lists Canada & the U.S I'm tempted to email them to ask if they ship to Europe, those prices are really good.

I guess you're right! I wouldn't mind something a little cheaper than Jack Link's though- 15 for three packs is a lot

How long is your connection at IAH? There's a Kroger's grocery not too far from the airport, about a 5-10min taxi ride. They would have more of a selection there.

While walking to my gate a couple of hours ago at IAH, I passed by the Bass Pro Shop located across from Gate C-43. Noticed that they had beef jerky there. Didn't stop to see price, but there it was--in the airport. Too bad there is not a Buc-ees close to the airport--they have some of the best jerky ever IMO.
