Split flight into two confirmation numbers?

Split flight into two confirmation numbers?
I've got a flight on CO, with my first segment on UA. Because the flight is international, I can't OLCI from UA. (The UA segment is domestic). Any way to split this flight so I can OLCI on UA for that portion, and the same on the CO portion?

Call CO and get the PNR for your UA leg. This will allow you to select seats on the UA leg as well.
