Double Platinum
I've read several threads about the need to split records with non elites to snag a EUA. Here's my question. Mrs F & I are booked in the same PNR SAT-IAH-BOS on Thursday. We are both Platinums. In theory, we should both upgrade if there are 2 seats when EUA runs. My question is has this ever worked for anyone?
Seems like we should have at least EUAed on the SAT-IAH hop with F showing Capacity: 16 Booked: 6 Checked In: 0 and it being a relatively open flight (only 3 exit row seats booked and 2 are us). Perhaps EUA is snagged on a bad record or they historicly see a lot of last minute Y's on these sheap full Y short hauls. We are close to 100% EUA alone SAT-IAH when not on a 735.

There have been several other threads over the past few weeks with this exact problem.
I'm not really sure what to believe, but keep your fingers crossed! Hopefully you, mrs F, and myself will get upgrades this week!

EUA has been flaky as of late, so it may not be running.
But ordinarily, yeah, you'ld get it if 2 Plats on the same record at the Plat window, if available.
IIRC, they're going to split your record anyway to get you on the upgrade list(s) at the airport. So might as well do it ahead of time. It improves your odds as well.

OT: In my experience, they are holding back more & more F seats for purchase lately. On my LAS-IAH yesterday, I was #4 on the UG list with 8 seats open about 12 hours before the flight. Got to the airport and was still #4, but now 3 seats open when they offered my wife an F seat for $119. By the time we took off, there was only 1 UG from the 3 in front of me, and it was a battlefield b/c they pulled him from the exit row.
