"Change flights" online - problems, problems . . .

Just tried to change a domestic flight online, but CO website seems to be messed up again.

Offers me only connections with two stops instead of a much more direct one stop option.

Or I get the message "system could not find any flights" despite the fact that they exist when I put in a new reservation.

When will they finally fix that problem?

It's possible that their systems are a little confused at the moment due to the pending SkyTeam to Star Alliance change (which one has to admit is a rather large IT project).

Have you tried called the online support desk?

I suppose that's technically possible, but given that this functionality has never quite worked right in years, I can see why the OP is frustrated.

Yes. When I want to change a flight on CO.COM, it invariably lists far fewer options in the relevant fare class than are available when I perform a dummy new booking. I had to submit to an EWR routing on a LIM itin that I changed when a number of IAH options showed for new bookings in the corresponding fare class.

At least it's sometimes possible, though.

I tried to change a ticket today on the Deltified NWA.COM and was not offered any of the available redeye options for the preceding night, high fare class or no.

In the end, I was compelled to buy outright a complete new ticket which was within $4 of the price of a change. My organization can use the residual value of the previous ticket for a future, lower-value booking, but it's ridiculous to see how limited the functionality is.
