Fare Class: First
As per a change in my corporate travel policy, I'm booking a lot of travel in refundable fare classes. Unfortunately, my email reservations are showing travel booked into the F cabin due to the auto-ups for Plats.
This is causing much grief / confusion / anger / explaining every time I fill out a T+E report as we are not allowed to book into the F cabin for domestic flights (upgrades are fine).
Can co.com please change their receipts to reflect the fare class booked into and not the cabin, as is currently displaying.
Thanks.
(By the way, I'm really looking forward to my ride on a 737-100

)

there was a thread about this a while ago.....I think the trick was select 'pay with cash'
print receipt
then pay and then the upgrade is processed but at that point you already have everything showing in Y class(es)

... I guess that's a work-around. Or CO could just display the booking class...

Even if they only show the booking code on the receipt it would likely show CU or AN (or whatever we're calling them this week). And those are not coach buckets.

After ticketing (which generates the email) you can go back in to your reservation, and there should be little "upgrade" check boxes there.

Not sure, but the option may not appear until you select "View/Change Seats".

You don't have to go this route. You just don't request the upgrade right away and process the purchase normally. Then you go back in and get the Y/B/M-Up after the email has been sent.
Even if they only show the booking code on the receipt it would likely show CU or AN (or whatever we're calling them this week). And those are not coach buckets.

Glad that you were able to get the upgrade. Another reason that it might not show up on the webpage is that the B/M upgrades go into AN (or possible some new letter as of this weekend) inventory. That is not unlimited so there are times when the option will not be presented.

I would also add that it would be very helpful if the First would be removed from the receipt unless it was the purchased class. I have used the option of not upgrading immediately in the past, but I hated having to go back later to process the upgrade after the receipt was generated. Lately, I have been using the full version of Acrobat (not Acrobat Reader) to print and then edit the receipt. Only takes a few minutes to change the fare class to the type actually purchased if you have the full version.

Although I could edit the receipt in photoshop or Acrobat, that would be forgery and it's not worth losing my job over.

They could put the full fare basis or fare ladder on there like many other airlines do.
But CO is probably concerned with making its receipts purdy.
