Phoenix - Spring Training BASEBALL - March 24 ??

Miss Kok and I will be out in Phoenix for some Spring Training baseball. Anyone interested in a daytime FT gathering ????

- late-morning tailgating (11:00)
- 1:00pm game

Cleveland Indians vs Chicago White Sox
GOODYEAR BALLPARK, Goodyear, AZ
Tuesday, Mar 24, 2009 1:05 PM
Ballpark info: http://cleveland.indians.mlb.com/spr...k.jsp?c_id=cle

I picked this game because this is the new ballpark for the Indians. Tickets seem to be plentiful now. Tickets (in seats with backs) are $23 and $18 each.

C'mon, it's springtime! Baseball time. Call in sick! Join us for a hot dog and a beer in the sun !!!

Interested (3 so far):

Good luck with that. There is another game that day that might draw some interest. It's at Ho Ho Kam in Mesa.

Hohokam Park is the Chicago Cubs spring training site in Mesa on the other side of Phoenix from the new White Sox site in Goodyear. My guess is that it's probably about 40 miles from Goodyear. I'll be at Hohokam on Monday afternoon to see the KC Royals vs the Cubs.

He knows what it is. He just plays a dummy on FT.

BTW, the White Sox are in Glendale bunking with the Dodgers. Neither can afford their own place. The Indians are in Goodyear.

Why not? You can't go to another games in the further away from Scottsdale?

D-Backs and Colorado are all that's left in Tucson.

Yes, as Luv - I see that he's taken his "funny-man pills today - says, currently, there are two teams in Tucson in the Cactus League. The future of Spring Training is Tucson is currently in doubt because only two teams remain there. Rockies play at Hi Corbitt Field and Diamondbacks play at Tucson Electric Park. Virtually all games are at 1:00pm (maybe 1 night game every year. maybe.) Of the two, Tucson Electric Park is the newer one but further out from the center of town. Hi Corbitt is older but it is OK. Hey, it's baseball.

I have been going to Spring Training in Tucson and PHX every year for about 10 years. Baseball in Arizona is relaxing at most parks (a few parks in the PHX area are exceptions when every seat is sold out). In Tucson, tickets at both parks are not a problem; just walk up and buy any ticket and take a seat!

I have been done it where we went to TUS for only 1 time of year. Where we were there at Spring training from last year in 2008. That I knows how exactly to get there at Tucson Electric Park is much easier for me. It just simple where you will have to look it up the website is at www.mapquest.com where you can take on I-10 south from PHX.

I think you'll be much happier with Camelback Ranch over TEP. Sadly, workload is making it impossible for me to get out to Spring Training this year.

When I was a kid I watched many a game at Hi Corbett when it served as the spring training home of the Cleveland Indians (1945 through 1992). We lived right next to Randolph Park.
