PHL breakfast/brunch/lunch: 2/21

I am going to be staying at the aloft PHL on the night of 2/20 (Friday). I am scheduled to fly out of PHL at 4:29 pm on UA to ORD on 2/21 (Sat).

I know nothing about the area around the airport.....or if subway is available to downtown. I will not have a car.

Anyone up for breakfast, brunch, or lunch?

Take the R1 from any Terminal at the airport to go directly to and from "Center City" Philadelphia. It could not be easier!!!

I'm around and (unusually) not working that day! Let me know if you have a specific timetable in mind - I'd probably prefer on the earlier side since I might have family coming into town a little later.

I am totally flexible on Sat 2/21. I won't get in until midnight to previous evening, so I'm not looking for a 6:00 a.m. wake-up call. But meeting 10 am or thereafter is DO-able.

As I mentioned, I will not have a car, but could easily take the subway to Philly.

I do not know the area at all, so I will leave it up to you (or others who might join in) to make suggestions on where to meet.

I need to be back at the airport by 3:30 pm at the latest.

I'm MR'ing thru PHL that weekend and would welcome some company. I arrive v late Fri night and leave v early Sun morning, but am free all day Sat 21st. Haven't booked accomodation yet but will prob stay downtown rather than at the airport.

Happy to make arrangements around you, otherwise I'll just meander around PHL for the day on my own doing the tourist thing.

I'm currently in the UK leaving Thur 19th. I'll PM you too.

Hi Duncan .... thanks for the PM and post.

MGW25 and I have planned to meet late morning to breakfast/brunch. It would be nice to have a Brit joining us revolutionaries!

You are coming from overseas, mgw25 is new to the area, and I am only a tourist. So, if a local joins in, we can ask him/her to select a place to meet. Otherwise, we'll get some advice from some of the locals.

I don't blame you for staying downtown ... I'll be near the airport, only since I was not sure if I would even go downtown.

cheers--Kevin

Thanks Kevin. Brunch is good as I won't get to bed much before midnight. Nothing too fancy please - I'm travelling light and won't have a tux

I'll let you know once I've booked a room. Let's see if anyone local pipes up with some recommendations or we can meet somewhere downtown and take it from there ^

Will do.

I just "re-checked" availability at the PHL airport. I, too, am arriving about midnight; I can dive into bed and take the subway to/from downtown.

I re-booked my hotel, since the rates have dropped. Several of the Starwood hotels at the airport are below $80/night (a-loft is $76, Sheraton Suites PHL at $72, etc.). Not sure if you are a *wood member.

K

That's a good plan Kevin. It'll be easier to stay at the airport for a late arrival & early start.

Thks for the tip on Starwood rates ^

Glad you're joining us, dunk - I'll try and do some research on a good (and convenient) place for us to meet up!

dunk and I are coming from out of town.....and will be going into town from the airport on SEPTA.

mwg25 lives in Joisey (a newbie to the area) and will be driving to Philly.

Is there anyone here who could recommend a place we might meet up for breakfast/brunch?

Any suggestions appreciated!

I have no idea where "City Center" is, compared to any of the SEPTA stations.
