Unhappy Help before I get over my head!!!

Hi There

I need some help before I get over my head. I'm a newbie as you can tell and would like to get on threads that are for newbies.

I have gotten on several new threads which I like to check out since I never know which ones would be of interest. Lately I have gotten on some that are way to advanced for what I am looking for.

If you can help it is greatly appreciated before someone kills me

There's a Help button in the upper right corner of the web page, with lots of good things to peruse, including especially "Contact Us," "FAQ," "Glossary," "Guidelines and Rules," "New Users Guide," "Search," "Support and Services Forums."

I suggest you look those over. Hope this helps!

Welcome to FlyerTalk!

For general information about frequent flier programs, you might look at the Miles Buzz forum.

For general information about flying (question/info that is not specific to a particular airline), check out the Travel Buzz forum.

For trains (United States), look at the Amtrak forum.

Is that the kind of info you're looking for? You'll find most folks here will be very helpful in steering you to what you need. If you have a specific question or topic in mind, you might browse the forum by doing an "Advanced Search" and looking for your topic/word by using the "Search Only Thread Titles" option. This will make the results more manageable than "Search All Posts."

First, don't be afraid to ask specific questions. If it's on train travel in the US, then the Amtrak forum is a good place to start. If it's specific to where you live (say flying from New York) then ask a question in the geographical forum, in that case the NY forum. If it's not the right place the moderators will move it for you.

One of the most amazing things about Flyertalk, at least to me, is how the new people are treated, generally quite good. Many other boards it's like "Hey, don't bother me, read the post from 7 years ago where somebody asked the exact same question".

And welcome to this little corner of the world.

Question

KathyWdrF

I have read the Guidelines, rules, explanations of diff. post and the others you suggested. I have found them very enlightening and will continue to refer to them. I do have one question: I started a Tread and later I posted to the tread again with another question causing the tread to appear 2 0r 3 times when it should have been in 2 Treads. How can I get them removed thus allowing only one tread with the name of the first question and another thread named for the second question?

Thanks for you help

There is a red triangle, in the bottom left corner of each post. If there is a problem with the post, click on that, and type a message that will be sent to the moderator. IE, "I posted this message twice, please delete this one".

Many of the frequent flyer lingo was totally greek to me the first few months I was on FT. I tried to absorb as much as possible in the beginning, without asking too many dumb questions.
