OpenSkies Do (first Do that includes free travel)

This might be a first. How about a Do with 19 other members of FlyerTalk where you get air fare for free?

Check this out:

FlyinHawaiian Jun 10, 2008 6:16 pm

Thank you, Randy! ^ ^ ^

Will you be on the flights?

missydarlin Jun 10, 2008 6:17 pm

sweeet!

serfty Jun 10, 2008 6:34 pm

No entry for moi; clashes with the BRT ...

Good luck to the winners ...

KLC Jun 10, 2008 6:36 pm

Thanks! My email is on its way.

gleff Jun 10, 2008 6:45 pm

Rock on, Randy, and thanks for thinking of us!! ^

wideman Jun 10, 2008 6:53 pm

Merci, Randy

Kiwi Flyer Jun 10, 2008 6:53 pm

Wow Randy. ^^^

Unfortunately I won't get my passport back in time otherwise I'd be checking out even paid tickets for a party in the air.

BiziBB Jun 10, 2008 7:15 pm

A Worthy Celebration!

What an amazing invitation. Well done, what a generous offer Randy. ^

I wish I could be there but I had my (valid, first-sector-used) e-ticket to NYC cancelled by the issuer and am yet to get it reinstated. :(

If I could be there, I would, so I hope some of the winners are excellent reporters. ;)

[I hope that a few ordinary members are chosen to come along, to prove it may have been possible for any of us to attend. ^]

restlessinRNO Jun 10, 2008 7:25 pm

Wow - a very generous offer, Randy. A fantastic way to celebrate the 10th anniversary of FlyerTalk. I'm unable to enter the contest myself, but I have notified another FTer and suggested she contemplate crossing the pond for the weekend. :)

civicmon Jun 10, 2008 7:28 pm

Good stuff, thanks for the offer, would be a lot of fun. I never been to Paris before!

lucky9876coins Jun 10, 2008 7:46 pm

Wow Randy, totally speechless! You rock!:)^ Ted salutes you! RAR!

Lori_Q Jun 10, 2008 8:02 pm

What fun! Randy, I hope to see you on board! ;)

bitburgr Jun 10, 2008 8:20 pm

Almost makes me want to give up my self-imposed FT anonymity...

Self-imposed anonymity, just like self respect, is way overrated. Give in!:D

Wainwright Jun 10, 2008 8:29 pm

That sounds fantastic! Unfortunately it is right between trips and I've got no time to take off.

Randy that's incredibly generous and I can't wait to read the reports. :)

mcgahat Jun 10, 2008 8:30 pm

Definitely quite a deal Randy, great job on pulling this one off. This is one Do that I hope I am able to attend! :) I am surprised nobody has asked this yet....but do the winners get miles and which programs can they be credited to and are they full eqms........ :p :D

scoow Jun 10, 2008 8:32 pm

WOW. This is great. Very generous, Randy! Thank you (for the Do & FT).

Send the e-mail. I promise not to tell anyone who you are.* :D

* Assuming you & I both win. BTW, I'm scoow... and you are???

iluv2fly Jun 10, 2008 8:39 pm

Merci bien, Monsieur Petersen!

Hmmm, BRT or free trip to Paris? Life is full of difficult decisions... :p

Hope to see you on da plane!

Catman Jun 10, 2008 8:39 pm

I love Paris anytime of year... unfortunately I cannot leave my furry, four pawed clients behind (in fact I got so booked that weekend I'm also missing the Brooklyn Reality tour.)

Randy, being a business owner like me sometimes you have to put work before fun (even if it is one of my favorite places in the world!)

This is a great trip and a great way to celebrate Flyertalk's 10th anniversary.

Good luck to the winners!

You really shouldn't talk about dhammer and Canarsie like that...

hch Jun 10, 2008 11:59 pm

Arranged an Award reservation from MUC to JFK for the dates to do direct turn-arounds in case I get selected. Let's hope I'm selected :)

Xyzzy Jun 11, 2008 5:25 am

Thanks for thinking of us, Randy! If I win one of the slots am I allowed to send the fabulous Mrs. Xyzzy?

bseller Jun 11, 2008 5:26 am

Thanks to Randy and FlyerTalk!! (and OpenSkies, of course! ;))
Dave

rtarbuck Jun 11, 2008 6:21 am

Just happen to be available that weekend!

Just got new passport in mail!

Love Paris and this sounds like a great way to get there.

Have plenty of miles for positioning and hotel. Please pick me. :D

PS: What time does the flight leave JFK?

Thanks for opportunity!

RP-

Your wonders never cease.

THANX!

SkiAdcock Jun 11, 2008 9:04 am

Wow - thanks Randy (and OpenSkies)!! What a great offer. I return from LHR on the 18th, so thought hmm, probably can't turn around same-day to get back to NYC in order to make 19th flight (if chosen) to go to Paris. And then I thought - self, you're an FTer! You can do this! And then UA & Hilton said no you can't, as no award availability. Have fun for those who are chosen! And again, many thanks!

Cheers.

The flight leaves JFK at 5:30PM and gets into Orly at 7:25AM. On the return it leaves Orly at 10:55AM and gets into JFK at 1:25PM.:)

Steph3n Jun 11, 2008 9:16 am

I entered this only to find out this morning I have events on the 18th and 19th to attend for work.......boooooo for work!

Canarsie Jun 11, 2008 9:30 am

For those of you who have not seen it yet, here is the Internet web site to OpenSkies.

bseller Jun 11, 2008 9:44 am

Thanks for the link, Canarsie. I was surprised at the "relative" reasoableness of the fares.

For the dates of the DO, it appears one can buy biz class tix (restricted) for 1200 Euro.

chanp Jun 11, 2008 9:54 am

Thanks Randy,

I just registered. Looks like the flight leaves JFK at 530 pm on the 19th and arrives at 725am, BA7002 into ORLY. Leaves the 22nd 1055am and gets back to JFK at 135pm, BA7001. We west coasters can still leave here on the 19th and connect and get back on the 22nd if we get on our tickets now :) of course, thats IF we win! oh and a Y ticket is pricing about 1300 and a J ticket about 3700.

TravelManKen Jun 11, 2008 10:14 am

This is awesome! Randy is now Willie Wonka :D

yyzprincess Jun 11, 2008 10:42 am

Thanks, Randy

beaubo Jun 11, 2008 11:20 am

Timing couldn't be any better...am actually in NYC June 17-18 for Steely Dan concert, using a QF award seat CLE-JFK on AA, so my pre-positioing costs would be 2500 QF points to change my return.

Might as well sign up my wife and throw her name into the hopper!!

kkjay77 Jun 11, 2008 11:26 am

I'd love to go, but I gotta fly out to BKK on the 22nd :(

elll Jun 11, 2008 11:27 am

Thanks, Randy and OpenSkies ! Unfortunately, I can't make those dates work.... I would love to go back to Paris - even for a weekend !
