If anybody would be interested in doing Diamond Head while you're there, give me a holler via e-mail.

Anyone else arriving on the 26th @4:55 PM?

That's the scheduled ETA but with my luck on UA ex-LAX that generally translates into some sort of delay ;)

Right now I'm scheduled to go back to LAX on the 29th @9:45 PM but there's a chance I might standby for the 1:45 PM flight

Okay,

I am jetting in on 'Monday Jan. 26' ETA 4:15pm HNL time on NW. Heading back to the mainland on 'Friday Jan. 30' at 5:55pm on NW. (Maybe the last A330 painted in NW colors I will fly. :( )

I am staying at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel for 4 nights. A little R&R and sun to get away from the cold for a few days. :)

If there is any plans.. etc. let me know. See you in Hawaii.

halothane, mr kk and i are in 2ab and 2hj on the way over.

regarding transportation to the hyatt, since there are three of you, you may as well take a taxi. as i recall, the shuttle is $15 round trip...a good deal if there's just one of you, as i think taxis to waikiki run about $25 to $35. if there are three of you, however, you may as well take a taxi, as it's almost a wash, and much faster, depending on where on waikiki your hotel is.

bk3day, we're supposed to get in at 3.32. since we're taking a cab and have no luggage, i expect to be wandering around waikiki beach by the time you arrive. :D

really looking forward to seeing everyone tuesday night for dinner. that'll be a good time for you all to plan additional group activities, as well, although i'm happy to add to the first post if someone has something specific (lili's doris duke home tour and the island drive come to mind).

Insofar as nobody wants to dine in Chinatown on the 26th,
anyone up for drinks that evening? I go to Snappers, as it
has great burgers and is an iDine place, but there are lots
of other options.

I might be up for it! InsideThePlane might be too....don't want to speak for him though. I will likely retire early on the 26th as I leave IAH at 640am.

Drinks and burgers works for me in a way that Chinatown does not. I'll even bring cash and let you have the iDine points if you want.

What time?

Wahoo!!!! The day is here. Just getting up and getting ready to return my rental to Hertz at IAH. Hope everybody's travel goes smoothly today!

Also curious....

Since I'm not sure what time I'll actually hit Waikiki, if ya leave me the info and I can swing it, I'll see ya then.

and a very EARLY good morning to all!

It's 5AM here in NYC and I bet y'all are jealous that I'm here enjoying the delightfully stale bagel facsimiles at the JFK RCC

I'm willing to sacrifice Chinatown for FT camaraderie.

How about 7 pm at Snappers? Unless you prefer Teddy's Bigger Burgers
on the other side of Waikiki (similar burgers, worse beer, bright and airy,
whereas Snappers is a dive).

greetings from chilly chicago, the rcc just across from b16!

InsideThePlane, halothane and i (along with halothane's parents and mr kk) had a fine flight iah-ord. halothane and his mom helped with a medical emergency onboard, for which they received some liquid reward and the promise of a future reward as well. InsideThePlane is trying to meet his daughter at the curb here in chicago to pick up something he left at home, and the rest of us are enjoying the new-ish lounge.

see you all in honolulu. look for the flyertalk luggage tags! :D

Absolutely my worst nightmare is being on an aircraft and having a medical emergency. But, the combination of a Trauma and Cardiovascular Critical Care Nurse, an OR nurse, and a dentist worked out just fine. Thankfully we didn't need to divert to STL as me, KarenKay and InsideThePlane would have missed UA 1 today.

Don't know about the others, but I'll go for the dive experience. It's been that sort of day already, having been given permission to purchase at the members only Ward Farmers Market and the 99 cent store (no member card required.)

We just got into the Hyatt. Absolutely gorgeous view. Upgraded on a Faster Free Night award. Not sure if I will be heading out tonight or not. A bit wiped out from the flight today. Shoot me an e-mail if anybody needs me. Looking forward to meeting the newbies tomorrow evening!
