Seattle Mini-Do, Saturday May 10

Folks,

We don't have anything specific planned yet, but I and a couple of Flyertalk friends will be flying into SEA on mileage runs. We all arive by 1 PM and don't have to return to the airport until sometime after 11 PM. And we have some Seattle Flyertalk friends that would like to meet us for dinner and perhaps also a Boeing tour or... [you fill in the blank]

I'll let the others coming post for themselves as they get around to it (some are infrequent posters), but wanted to get a placeholder here in CommunityBuzz and see if others want to join in and suggest dining places and/or an afternoon activity.

Cheers,
Griz

I will be in SEA that weekend on a NW MR. Getting something together would be great.

Keep me up to date. I rarely come over to Community, but can probably be one of the Seattle contacts.

Ok only 6 days to go, time to do some semi-planning!

Attendees so far:
GrizShel
Humanoid94
Robert
RustingInSeattle

I have a mid-size vehicle Reserved which Robert and I will pickup at the airport when we arrive at 1 pm.

Suggested activities:
1. Seattle waling tour of historical downtown via:
http://www.seattlewalkingtours.com/walk_tour.htm
we'll have to use her book to follow one of her tours as she is not available. Tour starts at 3 PM.

Cost $15 per person, please confirm by May 7.

2. Dinner and shopping at Great Wall Mall in Kent:
www.greatwallmall.com
There are 10 ethnic restaurants there, please vote for your favorite.

3. Return to SEA-TAC airport and Crash the World Club. - Changed to Continental's club at SEA.
Locals, are welcome, and if you want to suggest different activities or ideas for dinner, now is the time!

I am spending Friday night in Seattle (Currently at the Westin unless I can pick something up cheaper on Priceline), I can meet up with you guys sometime downtown for the walking tour, etc. Robert has my cell phone number.

I believe the Worldclub closes at 5:30 pm, but I know there is a Continental President's Club that we can takeover which is open until 12:30am. (I am on the 12:40 am back to MSP).

I would love to join you and see the Great Wall, but I'll be in FAT until 5/11.

Have fun, buy pocky and remember some tropical fruits do not travel well.

Humanoid, if you and Robert will just say "Yes I want to go and $15 is fine" on the walking tour, I'll consider we have a quorum, and I'll try to get us reserved for Sat. (I'll take the financial risk of having it reserved in my name.) Their minimum for a 2 hour tour is $15 per person and $45 per tour, so with 3 people we're on regardless of whether anyone else joins in.

What is everyone's situation on club membership? I may purchase a 60-day World Club pass if needed, but if someone can guest me, I'll hold off on that.

Sorry you can't make it; hope you mean you'll be in Fresno. I guess you won't have to worry about the following there -

Ha! I forgot to add:
1. No durian
2. No stinky tofu
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stinky_tofu

Anything else is fair game.

Griz I am definitely interested in the walking tour. Sign me up! I look forward to flying out to SEA with you on Saturday; I'll PM you so we can coordinate meeting at the airport.

I'm sorry we'll miss you, Owlchick. It was really great meeting you back in February.

Humanoid94 Happy Hour was a great time last week (as usual!) See you in Seattle on Saturday!

The Seattle walk lady can't take another tour on Saturday - too bad, she sounds delightful!

She recommends we use her book as a guide:
http://www.amazon.com/6-Seattle-Walk...0118996&sr=8-1

I called the Borders Bookstore at SEA-TAC, they will have a copy on hold for us to pick up on Saturday. Cost is $9 + tax. New tour price with highly unprofessional guide reading from a book is $2.50 or a free drink.

Bumping to see if there is anyone else interested.

I'm pretty sure RustingInSeattle will at least join us for dinner, but he's been swamped at work so I haven't heard from him for a few days. I'll try to reach him Friday evening to reconfirm.

Sorry I couldn't line up the genuine tour guide for the walking tour, but I'm sure we'll have fun any way.

Last chance to arrange to meet up with us - I would suggest sending us a PM tonight if you decide to do so.
