I am flying into Cambodia on September 8. Preliminarily, my plans are to head directly to Bali, and then stoping briefly in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur on my way back to Phnom Penh.
Isn't it pretty pricey to go from PNH to DPS, jaymar01? (I thought I'd looked into it briefly and it looked like it would cost more to fly to Bali from Phnom Penh than it will to go from LA to Phnom Penh )

I arrive in PNH on Oct 20, spend 8 hours, then fly to Siem Reap, spending three nights there. Return via PNH and TPE to LAX on Oct 23. Sorry I am not spending more time in PNH but all the advice I have received from friends and others who have been or lived there say to head to Siem Reap.

Im there 9/22-25

I arrive in PNH on 9/22 and leave 9/25. I plan on going to Angkor Wat for a day or 2. Anyone with similar plans ? Anyone know the best way to get there (plane, bus or boat ) ?

Cheers,

With so little time, I would suggest flying. Siem Reap Air (FT) is currently the only airline that flies the PNH-REP route.

Note that September 24 is a bank holiday (Constitution Day), though not heavily observed. Government offices will be closed, but most tourism-oriented businesses are likely to be open that day.

Your right a conventional booking on a "brand" carrier is outrageously priced.

I am using 20,000 United miles for an intra-south Asia award.

You can also make the trip for about $300 on Air Asia, flying via Kuala Lumpur directly to DPS (or via Jakarta), but with limited flight schedules it would take some time.

Michael, I'll be in PNH 10/28-10/30. Sadly, looks like most FT'ers will be there earlier than me.

I changed my return for Oct 23 so I could do something on Oct 22. It seems that several of us will be in PNH on that date.

I figured I'd give it a few more days and then propose something -- but right now it looks to me like the best dates for most people are Oct 20, 22 or 23.

Any preferences?
