Thumbs up St. Patrick's Day Party in Beijing (Sat. March 17th)

Attention Flyertalk folk hanging out in PEK next weekend. I'm in town with a crew of 10 and it will be the last night in town. Are you up for St. Patty Day night in the Middle Kingdom? Probably down in Sanlitun - it will be fun!

I just got your PM, TMK, but shall reply here instead. I'll be around. In fact, I'm in NRT now on my way to PEK. When you get a chance, fill us in on the date (I should know that cuz of my Irish blood, but anyway) and we can discuss venues.

Thanks. That helps. If you want to get a table at a club on a Saturday night, someone needs to show up by 10:30. Deposits don't work too well because the establishments are more interested in your early RMB rather than the post midnight money that they'll get anyway.

So, we usually just play it by ear.

If you to do the table thing, I suggest China Doll.

Even if not, I suggest starting out with dinner (maybe Xiaowangfu) followed by Lan (which is impressive).

So maybe do a group dinner over at Xiaowangfu starting around 8-ish, then head over to China Doll? Is China Doll near the stadium?

"after dinner" is too early for china doll; you need to wedge somewhere else in the middle. that's why i suggested lan, but nanjie (the place with the "writing on the wall"; litterally now since it's going to get reduced to rubble soon) and kai/shooters also work.

Welcome to FlyerTalk! Of course, you're already more experienced at Do's than most FTers. Incidentally, I'm back to MUC, tomorrow!

Note to OP: Please forgive my off topic post! I'll send a PM to explain.
