burning question from a newbie.

Is there a key to what those icons means in the bottom left of individual posts? why do some members have a green "mood ring" and others silver ones? and what does the exclamation point in the red road sign mean? I searched around for an explanation of these icons, with no luck.

Hello!

Green means the user is on-line right now. Click-on the exclamation roadsign to report an inappropriate post.

I figured it was something simple like that. Thanks for clarifying.

I only found out during the the Israel/Iran conflict when a bunch of newbies logged on to Dovster's thread and kept talking about their "green lights" being on showing they were still safe. Duh!

Welcome to FT, stobin. BTW, for what it's worth, the red "mood ring" means I'm invisible

Welcome to FT!^

The exclamation point is the "report bad post" icon, which does exactly what its title suggests.

You are most welcome and welcome to FT. BTW that hover trick works on a great many websites (it is there so people who are visually impaired can use websites with their voice programs).

The old days of "reputations."

Thanks, Canarsie for this thread. It inspired me to set up MyFlyerTalk, which certainly makes it a lot easier to sift through the threads that interest me.

Exploring the thread further, I was first confused, and then fascinated to read about the "reputation" feature, which i soon figured out is no longer a part of FT. Sounded pretty polarizing, though. It seems to make sense for a site like ebay, where business/transactions occur, but i guess proved to not be a good fit for FT. Anyway, it was an interesting little artifact to discover.
