Austin -- Thursday 2/1 -- Dinner/Drinks

I will be in Austin for meetings next week. I will be spending most of the day Thursday near College Station, but will be back to Austin for the evening. Any FTers around? I'm open to suggestions on location, but would like decent food and drink.

Count me in. May have to just do drinks, however. I don't get off work until 8:30 and my budget will be a little pinched from attending the El Paso Do the next few days afterwards.

I'm going to miss this one, but will be in Austin for the first time from 8-11 Feb, staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Austin Downtown and considering a summer internship in the city. Free all day Saturday, 10 Feb if anyone is around.

Ah, the old former Sheraton/Intercontinental/Unremembered name/now Hilton Garden Inn Austin Downtown. I know it well.

Seriously though, sorry you are going to miss dukeman this time around, but neither of you should miss dining at the Ironworks BBQ, right around the corner from your respective hotels at 1st Street and Red River.

I may be available on February 10th after 7 PM. Not sure just yet. Regardless, I think you'll find Austin to be a great place to visit and work, so good luck with that.

Last chance...

To join dukeman and myself at the Sheraton Austin Downtown around 9 PM for drinks. He has already made dinner plans apparently.

Well, that was interesting...I hope they were able to sop Alvin up with a bar towel and get him onto your flight, dukeman.

Pleasure to spend a couple of hours chatting with you, Melissa (?) and her adorable puppy around our preacher friend.

Next time maybe a few more Austin FT'ers can join us.

Sincerely,

It certainly was interesting! Nice to meet you! I didn't see Alvin this morning at the airport or on my flight.

Holding hands in prayer across a hotel bar...yeah, that was a first! On the plus side, I think he bought all of our drinks! ^ Definitely an interesting evening....

Nice to meet you too, and little Winston Miles says "hi!" I'll be in touch next time I come through AUS. In just the last month or so I've had 3 good friends move to Austin...great town!
