Hi folks,
Just joined FT yesterday, having seen a feature about Mileage Runs on the ABC6 news here in Providence.
Perhaps I have found the place which will explain Elite Status, Qualifying Segments, and other things related to award programmes which I havent taken advantage!
All the best
Geoff

Hi and welcome to flyertalk.
I would say: yes - you've found that place!
We have a number of fora that deal with the separate frequent flyer programs and airlines. The best information will be found there but we have some cool other places also. Feel free to contact one of the moderators if you have further questions.

Welcome to FT. Many of the forums have "stickies", posts and threads that always remain at the top of those forums. Those contain answers to most common questions and tons of good basic info. Check those out, and use the "My Flyertalk-Have it your way" button to organize the screen and arrange the forum displays so they are simpler and better focused on your interests.

Welcome aboard, pinktristar!
You will find that, while this addiction can be time-consuming and somewhat expensive (although certainly less expensive than gambling), it is not necessarily fattening, and only rarely results in incarceration. If you ease them in slowly, SOs can often be convinced to play the game, making it even more fun.

as the one whom you saw on abc, welcome to flyertalk! feel free to post away as there is no silly question other than the one that is not asked
and fwiw, read as many of the stickies in your favorite forums and try the search function-it's a bit quirky at times and although it can be time consuming it is a valuable tool which will shortcut it incredibly valuable information.
there's no turning back now-your life as you now know it has now ended.... welcome to your "new addiction"
