Hartford. How about Greenwich or Stamford?

Seriously, what about that famous pizza place in New Haven?

Frank Pepe Pizzeria

Review
Pizza that will change your life is the answer admirers give for why its worth standing in a blizzard for an hour for the perfect, crispy, thin-crust Neapolitan-style pies at this 80-year-old New Haven institution where the poor service is part of the legendary charm; surveyors swear the clam pies are the eighth wonder of the world and the chief reason why this local treasure has a special place in the hearts and arteries of many.

BTW. New Haven has several other great pizza places. Maybe someone can chime in with additional info.

Please don't do a Friday night (traffic).

I'm fine with New Haven, just threw Hartford out there to try to get some MA ppl or people from the northern part of the state. Of course, both could also work

Try Modern:

Modern Apizza Place
(203) 776-5306
874 State St
New Haven, CT 06511

Great pizza, friendly joint.

And, your hubcaps will still be on your car when you come out. Unless BDLORD's in town.

There is also Sally's...my only concern would be the 'no reservations' policies at Sally's and Pepe's (don't know about Modern).

Unhappy

I would also vote for:

Reins Deli (rte 30 vernon 860 875-1344 exit 65 off i-84) for pastrami, Hot Tomato's in downtown Hartford (amazing garlic bread!), and the Mystic Seaport / Aquarium!

Unfortunately, I would not be able to attend if it is in mid-May (so I guess I don't get a vote).

Speaking for myself and not anyone else from Mass., I'd go as far as Hartford (includes Rein's, of course) in a heartbeat, but anyplace past there toward NYC would mean I have to think about it. Not that I definitely wouldn't go, but it wouldn't be as automatic.

(I'm away from May 20 through about June 10, so that may rule me out anyhow.)

Pastis and Trumbull Kitchen could also be possible Hartford venues.

Glad to see that you took the initiative here, thelark, after I dropped the ball earlier.

I'm in, provided my scheudle allows. Mid May is going to be tough as I will likely be needed in Shanghai around that time.

If there is interest in doing it in Hartford, I'd reccomend West Hartford as it is certainly a more fun venue than downtown Hartford. Perhaps The Elbow Room would be a good venue/

Any update on a date for this? There is a possibility I will be in the BDL area for business sometime in mid-to-late June...

It's better for me in New Haven, Westport, Norwalk, Stamford or Greenwich. Did you notice a westerly pattern?

I'm out for Hartford, even if flygirl is coming.
