Was just up there for a hockey tournament. The town is looking good, though parking is expensive.

The Westin Indianapolis is a great hotel.

I was there in 97 & 00 for the Final 4.. its not the funnest city but hey it still the final 4 and with Mason in it.. seems like it will be really fun.. lodging will be a problem.. I'll probably stay out side the city like I did in 97 unless I can get lucky like I did in 00

I'd love to get together......right now I'm scheduled to be in Saturday early afternoon......

BTW: Spring break for area schools starts Friday and I know the airport has been crazy (NWA was looking for 7 volunteers for their 7pm flight last Friday and couldn't get anyone out on any airline for 48 hours later...needless to say as much as I wanted the bump 48 hours wouldn't work for me)

Go hang out in Broad Ripple... that's where the best nightlife is. Just a little north of the city, somewhere near 62nd St east of Meridian. (don't remember exactly).

This is sat to admit but being a local (well for the past 18 months that is) I've been to Broad Ripple once...but I believe most bars are on Broad Ripple Ave more the south end of the district (maybe 10 mins from downtown/RCA Dome)...I'll have to go PM Indufan as he spends more time there than I do

Hopefully you didn't park at the Westin. That is the most expensive parking in downtown.

It's not really north of the city...it's in the city. But it is several miles north of all the Final Four action. AND, it's a very young crowd.

Actually, I haven't been there much either.
All of the happening nightlife for the Final Four will be in walking distance of the RCA Dome. South Meridian Street is the center of nightlight with Have a Nice Day Cafe and others and Ike and Jonesys just a half block off Meridian towards the Dome.

Actually, I was considering skipping the downtown party this coming weekend!

Actually the Marriott has higher priced parking (highest in the city)

I agree (from what I've heard) about the young crowd but personally I'd rather stay out of downtown if possible....something in Broad Ripple, Keystone Crossing, Castleton, Carmel or Fishers are my preferences....

Here's an idea...let's go to Indu's house

Here's an idea, how about socrates' house?

Broad Ripple, Keystone, Castleton, Carmel & Fishers are great but they will not be in the festive spirit that downtown will be. Of course, they had better pray for good weather for the outdoor John Mellencamp concert on Sunday.

Could but no one might be home...but if I'm offered a bump I'll stay down here (I only need to get back by Wednesday to catch my flight to MIA)

I'm flying in for work on the 4th. It was supposed to be a day trip, but I can't get a reasonably priced flight back because everybody's leaving town! Since I don't want to drive 400 miles in one day just to attend a meeting from 1-3pm, I'll end up staying over and flying back the next morning.

Oh, and there's not a hotel room to be had, at least not for less than $300/night.

Actually, I parked at the Pan Am ice rink. We used the car to store our gear in between games since there weren't enough locker rooms to go around for us to have one all weekend. Worked out pretty well.
