MR Hashers
Hope this is in the right forum. Are there any Hash House Harriers here? I've just begun MR'ing and I'm thinking it's a great way to meet other hashers, both flying with/meeting up at transfers, and hashing.

I had to google the Hash House Harriers to understand what you were talking about - I think that this thread would be better placed in our CommunityBuzz forum where you may be able to hook up with other Hashers.
I'll move it there.
Thanks!

Javan69, welcome to the CommunityBuzz forum. Most FlyerTalkers who wish to meet others, post specific suggested cities and dates for possible meet-ups. Look at the other threads here for guidance on the customs of the forum. As we are a very welcoming community, posted meet-ups are expected to be open to all, and not just to members of a certain club or group. Ocn Vw 1K, CommunityBuzz, Co-Moderator.

I've hashed a few times and can assure Ocn Vw 1K that hashers are a most welcoming and inclusive group. I've heard it best described as "drinkers with a running problem" but I'm a non-runner and I've even been told that non-drinkers occasionally hash.
I've tried many times to coordinate my schedule with the HKG, SIN, or BKK hashes as those ex-pat groups look to be *quite* fun!

I've made at least two or three hundred runs with the Saipan Hash House Harriers. In fact, my wife and I hashed immediately after our wedding reception on SH3 #396, along with my brother, the best man.
A FlyerTalker accompanied me on SH3 #1000, and I expect another FTer to join me in two days on SH3 #1111.
On on!

I ran with Hash in Rarotonga a couple of months ago. Agreed, a great way to meet people when travelling. I also met a guy at a bar in Christchurch with a Hash shirt. It is a much bigger organization than I ever thought.

Yeah
I am an avid hasher in florida. I use to hash all over the world with my Mother Hash (Etna Ash House Harriers) and absolutely love it. On a recent trip to San Diego, I hashed 6 out of 7 days and would have done 7 for 7 but there was one day off. You could always set up a Hasher Do and have everyone from FT show up and indoctrinate them in. Hashers are all walks of life and no one is left out.

They are EVERYWHERE. I've never hashed (can't run) but knew quite a few down here. It's rather underground but once you know of the organization and start putting tendrils out you find that there's an H cubed group pretty much anywhere you want to go. I've met most of the club here and everyone is very welcoming, laid back and friendly. It's not something for the antisocial.

I have Hashed throughout the middle east, indo, africa and actually did a couple in the USA - which surprised me as I started in Saudi and always looked at the Hash as a developing world/ expat thing.
Hope to be out with the Saipan Hash for their #1111. We will try to do a short report.
I think a HASH thread might be a good thing - - it would be nice to see a group of FT'ers hit the InterHash in ChangMai (OCT 27-29). Maybe FT could could be the home base for all us Transient Hashers. I think there is a good number of us out here. .
Hash is a great way to get to know a new country and the expat community in it.

Wow! You really can learn something new nearly every day on FT. I also had to Google this. Sounds like a very comaptiable concept to FT community board.

Hash
I think one of the best things about the Hash is the people involved. The majority of us are very welcoming and would host anyone, anywhere, anytime of the day. It's kinda like the perfect way to unwind from a stressful day. Some running, some drinking, some running and more drinking and singing. What's funny is during my last hash in SAN, the district attorney, 3 public defenders, couple of porn stars and two pastors ran, so like I said there is every type of person that does this.
