Where we all are: on a google map

Looks like frappr as of 2010 at least is no longer alive :(. Cute whilst it was around. Not sure if mods want to close or delete this thread but that may be appropriate.

manar Nov 8, 2005 11:30 am

edited to remove complaint that you can't edit your location - you can now!

chexfan Nov 8, 2005 1:06 pm

I think it's pretty cool. It's be interesting to see what it looks like when there are 100 or a 1000 or more members... ^

p1cunnin Nov 10, 2005 7:55 pm

The link in the TalkMail Newsletter doesn't get you to this thread, so we may need to keep this one alive.

Frappr is pretty cool. I'm on a couple other maps.

EdisonCarter Nov 10, 2005 9:15 pm

I'm on there now, and I echo the comment that it will be better with a bunch more people.

But I like it - neat to see where people are on a map and see pictures of those who chose to share as well.

vivrant Nov 10, 2005 9:17 pm

I'm there!

essxjay Nov 10, 2005 10:24 pm

Me!

You had 2 that were the same of just you + a group photo. I pulled one of the dupes.

Am now on instant sub for this thread rather than daily updates. Oops.

I'm there too.

Does it count to add oneself twice on the map, once for home and then once for university?

Even though http://www.frappr.com/flyertalk didn't like my zip code, and doesn't consider the CNMI to be part of the United States. :(

That will not be necessary.

For easy access at any time, a link to this thread has been added to the first milepost of The Definitive CommunityBuzz! Forum Thread Directory thread.

Enjoy!

No community rules in place yet -- if it seems to make sense to you then go for it!

You want me to drop by unexpectedly? Or do you live on the right side of the tracks? You can go to your map and adjust it to the exact street where you live.

Manar, this is really neat.

cordelli Nov 20, 2005 6:42 pm

Now that's cool, moving the marker, didnt' see that option, or it wasn't available.

Our town only has one zip, and it's a huge town, just wanted to move it closer to home.

Haven't fully tested that but I think it copes reasonably by stacking them slightly off from eachother. But just adjust your exact location till you are happy - click on the edit location link near the add/adjust yourself form.

That's a new option they put in recently.
