Welcome to FT! Just keep coming back to this forum to see what events are being posted and where they'll be taking place. If you're available and interested in joining any of the events, just add your name in a post on the thread.

There is also an events calendar function within flyertalk, where some folks hosting a DO event will post their event. The events posted on the calendar appear on the bottom of the flyertalk forum page on their respective date.

Plenty of dinners in San Francisco.

Also, with this group, you may just want to fly to Singapore (SIN) in January;
or maybe New York City in spring 2006 for the 6th annual dhammer53 Brooklyn Reality Tour;
or, there's always Seattle aka SeaDo in August 2006.
What about Bali in summer 2006.

Some of us have been known to fly from NYC to SIN just for chili crabs.

Keep reading this forum for new events; and annual events.

If you'd like, you can post your own event. All you have to do is set a time, date, and place. Trust me, they'll come. This group likes to fly and eat.

Seriously though dhammer53 is right - post it and they will come. A few months back I noticed I'd be passing through SIN around the same time as another FTer, posted in this forum whether anyone was interested in dinner & drinks - about 20 showed up from all around the world and we had a great time.

A friend of mine wants to visit Seattle & I haven't been there in a long time. Does anyone have info on when the get together is there? Also, I will be in Playa del Carmen area 12/1 to 12/8/2005--anyone going to be around there at that time? Also I will be in Portugal end of March to early Apr 06? I've learned so much just reading on this site and can't wait to meet some of you in person! Thanks for your help. Sandy

The next official Do in SEA is Keg Do V, on December 3, 2005.

SEA Doo has historically been in mid-August. The chief organizer of the most recent SEA Doos, missydarlin, is taking a well-earned hiatus from her duties, so it will be up to the member(s) who will organize SEA Doo VIII in 2006 to determine when the exact dates of that event will be.

The best thing to do is create a post with your dates and location you want to set up a meeting in the title of the thread (one thread per location & set of possible dates). This makes it easy for someone like yourself looking for a meet to just look at titles and see that you'll be there at the same time. Putting all these different trips & locations in one place, and under a thread with a different name entirely, makes it difficult for someone to see this unless they are reading everything posted.

If you just post your travels in this forum, then someone will probably contact you either on the board or contact you via PM. Not all meetings are posted when these are small events, where members just happen to be in the same place at the same time.

Just to follow on previous posts, many have found that if they wished to be the one to start organizing a 'do, because they'll be in a specific place at a specific day or range of dates, the best method is to start a new thread with that info and see if others can join. If you can make the thread title as specific as possible (check out titles of other threads), that helps promote your do. If you need to change the thread title because your 'do turns out to be best on a diff. day or time, any of us Community moderators are authorized to do that. Best wishes to join or start a 'do soon!
