Perhaps with the elections out of the way -- if, indeed, we ever do get them out of the way -- people will have more time to think about Christmas.

I am going to link to this thread in the TLV Meet thread and suggest that the people touring Israel might want to pick up gifts in Jerusalem to send as Secret Santas.

I'm sure signatures will be turned back on again after the run-off election. William, can you start doing some matchig w/ folk who have already signed up? Ok, I know I'm way too organized but I got this done before Turkey Day last year & I'm on the road a lot in Nov :) Cheers. Sharon

PS - Thank you SS from last year - great gifts. I sent you a note but just wanted to say thanks again.

I'm not the only one who approaching holiday shopping as something that must be planned and organized? Black Friday to me is like a sport. We spend Thanksgiving day, after the meal, looking at all ads, planning our journey for the next day, and enlisting the help of friends and family to help with deals. We jokingly call it tag team shopping. Last year, I was home from Black Friday events by 10 AM, and had 85% of my shopping for the holidays done.

That said, I can always wait on the Secret Santa matchups, since if I have almost everything else done (and with 3 of 6 people covered already, I should be there) I can devote time after Thanksgiving.

By my calculations even if Mr. Santa Claus doesn't give us names until December 10th we can all rest assured our gift will get there in time. . .Here are the "real' secrets to holiday shopping and no stress:

Online shopping with cable modem
FedEx Shipping

Relaxing while knowing your Secret Santa gift is on its way on time :)

*sitting at my computer waiting VERY patiently. . .*

Hmm. .. guess it's true what the song says about how Santa can see you when you're sleeping, see you when you're awake. . .;)

I do so love this holiday! Doesn't everybody?

Reminds me of the chant Al Franken came up with...

Al: What do we want?
Crowd: Patience!
Al: When do we want it?
Crowd: Now!!!

:D

How can I be a patient? I'm not sick. Oh, not that kind of patient... :D Patience is a virtue, right?

I hope the search function gets fixed soon. I use it to read posts by my Santa recipient, so I get a sense of what he or she really is into.

Let me save you the time and trouble of searching... Just listen to "Santa Baby" (preferably the Eartha Kitt version) - that'll give you a pretty good idea :D ;)

Check me off as being a good boy and sending in all my info! Sounds Fun....the world is trully FLAT!

AzureBlue Nov 11, 2005 10:27 am

Again! :)

Thanks for organizing this craziness again!

I had a great time last year. I enjoyed both the chocolates that my Santa sent to me.... and the totally unexpected thank-you gift that my *recipient* sent me (after receiving the gift that I had mailed)! I still have that calendar of Hawaii on the wall beside this computer and everytime I glance at it to check dates, I fondly recall this wonderful bit of generosity.

Thanks for bringing us all together!
