So far, the best bar i've found near the Worthington Hotel is Fox and Hound (mmmmm...fat tire). Pour House was a bit seedy.

Any other suggestions in walking distance?

Fox and Hound and PourHouse are nice but tend to be a bit lower end.

Try 8.0 or the Flying Saucer - owned by the same folks. 8.0 is a bit nicer and has a great drink menu. Flying Saucer will remind you of a smaller scale version of the Brickskeller.

Wish I had seen this sooner... I was looking for a drinking buddy last night and ended in downtown. Dallas, that is.

Thanks! I'll have the concierge point the way and give them a shot tonight.

Cant say as I blame you. Having spent 4 days in Fort Worth I officially declare it one of the (many?) armpits of Texas.

Yeah, you heard me, I am Messin with Texas...

Downtown during the week sucks. On a Friday or Saturday night (or even a Thursday), however, I would have to disagree with you as it is generally a full tilt party going on and the streets are packed.

Its much better than when I was a teen... before the Bass brothers "bought" downtown, it was pretty ghetto... not safe to venture out after 5 pm.

I can't picture Fort Worth's downtown as having been ghetto. I can picture the party side, however.
