Counting the hours down....less than 3.5 hours to go. Very busy night at the PD with stacked calls and lots of activity on the street (including a pursuit from another city that zipped through town on I80 at speeds over 100mph).

Coworkers prepared a pasta feed and ice cream sundaes for my last night, and many of the officers I've worked with over the years have been by to wish me well. Hoping the remainder of the night stays slow and I get promptly out the door at 0600.

One more hour. Time to start boxing that stuff out of your locker! :D

Did that last night (have a crate full in the trunk--more memos, policies, and procedures than you'd ever want to accumulate). I have one manual left to take out of my file cabinet in the supervisors office, as well as two headsets, and I'm ready to go!

Safely home. One of the officers brought in some freshly baked doughnuts the last hour, so I had enough energy to get in the car and drive home :)

I am now among the ranks of the retired.
