Congratulations, Tom!

I think we should all call in and congratulate Tom on his last shift tomorrow... does anyone know the phone number? :D

^ ^ ^

Tom, this calls for a celebration! How about a FlyerTalk get-together in the Bay Area?

:)

Good luck Tom. And be sure to write up something here after a few years of retirement and travel. Give us some advice for when our magic day arrives. :)

Good luck Tom!!!

You certainly don't look like you are of retirement age. I wouldn't have guessed you to be more than 61, let alone 65.

Fortunately, we have enhanced retirement here, so I'm going at 50 (I know, the grey makes me look slightly older) It would be an ugly scene if I was still answering 911 lines at 65. Thankyou for your kind words ;)

Kathy-

Have lots of travel in the weeks ahead. I'll just show up at one of the upcoming Bay Area events as they get posted. Thanks for offering, though.

I knew not putting a smiley in my post would get a reaction out of you, but didn't expect it so soon!!! ^ ;)

You know I know how old you are.

But this gives me the opportunity to wish you a great retirement and wonderful and safe travels once again!!! Good luck!!! :D

You can buy me a drink on my next ORD visit (or where ever our paths cross next time). ^

Congratulations Tom - enjoy!!!! You're one of the best.

2 years ago I was flying to SFO area for a wedding & realized at LAX I'd lost my DL (able to get on plane w/ 1K card, xerox of DL & SSSS), so wasn't going to be able to rent a car upon my arrival as planned. Posted frantically from the LAX RCC asking for input on how to get from one place to another (I was supposed to go to San Jose first, then to Tiburon for wedding then back to SFO) w/ no wheels. When I arrived at the SFO RCC & checked my thread, there was a response from Tom - whom I'd never met - offering to give me a ride - which would have meant a long drive from where he lived to get me & then take me to where I needed to be & then long ride home - a very generous offer & indicative of the 'spirit of FT'. As it turned out, I managed to cobble rides w/ friends & relatives, but I'll always remember his gracioussness & generosity.

Since then I've gotten to know him (and feel like I know Natalie, who I voted for yesterday) & he is indeed one of the good ones. Enjoy the travels & retirement! Cheers.

Wait! You're retiring?! Sheesh. . .I need to read this forum more often! Who knew? ;)

Congratulations my friend . .. may the next part of your life be as wonderful as this has been :)

And as far as some of the other posters who have said that tom is "one of the good guys. . " I would say he is one of the GREAT guys.

Tom,

Allow me to add my congratulations on your retirement. I too, as with many many here, will look forward to seeing you at that many more events as your travel schedule just got a huge bump in flexibility. Knowing your passion for travel, I bet you will make use of this time very well. Transcon runs at $100 (give or take) to accrue, and then long distance runs in C or F. :) C'mon, 'fess up, that is the plan for the foreseeable isn't it? :)

Next SIN Run for sure, and probably a bite to eat in the City later this year. Enjoy, and be sure to shout out when you will be in town for your celebratory dinner in Tokyo.

All the very best from the other side of the Pacific,

Mike
