Anybody still using CHAT?
Just wondering if anyone still hits the Flyertalk Chat area?
Seems everytime I drop in I am by myself.
(ok you guys are trying to hide!)
Well I was hunting for a European Run......... we did the last minute London last July 4th on AA from DFW and it was great. If I remember correctly it was about $425 RT and 3 nights hotel right downtown. 777 direct service and not too full. This was of course before the $250 miles upgrade fees were imposed by AA.
We really want to go to Paris early July.
Anybody heard of any upcoming surprises?

As this sort of has to do with MR's since you were asking about a MR, but it also mostly has to do with Chat (since that's what the title is), I'm moving this to the CommunityBuzz forum.
As for chat - I knew a bunch of people used in April 04 when FT went through the conversion - and I think some people regularly use it on the weekends & at night, but I don't know how many.
As for the fares, you may want to ask if anyone's seen any last minute AA deals on the AA forum - but this summer's loads have been relatively high & if you can find a all-in ~400 fare to Europe this summer on such short notice, that'd be a heck of a deal! Also, since specific itineraries requests aren't allowed in the MR forum.

Most of the action in chat begins after 10:00pm eastern, and continues till about 1:00am.
GMT 0300-0600.
There's a group of 6 - 20 regulars that you're likely to find there.
We talk miles, points and etc.

edited to say that seeya is correct. Chat is a slow build. The excitment peaks after 11.

Just keep in mind if you've never been in chat, that the conversation is usually all over the board. It seems like there are always new folks who pop in who are disappointed that the conversation topics aren't 100% mileage related.
