jjpb3 and bdschobel: you are both now on the list. :-:
Transportation was never a problem for us - we used CGK's contact for whole day rentals. As to favorite area, from the past trip, it seems that Ubud wins the most number of hands. :) |

We'll have a hotel central again for 2006 as we did this year which will most lkely have most of the BaliDoers staying there (though obviously everyone is welcome to stay wherever they want)...we just need to decide whether we're willing to forego points & stay credits, villas vs rooms, location, etc. So far there's been opinions on most everything, and we'll do our best to negotiate group rates wherever we decide on. |
Oh silly me, I forgot about all of the OnePass Miles in my account and was able to get a ticket in F/J via HNL and GUM for 120,000 and $50 service fee.
I arrive on the 24th and depart on the 31st. Cheryl, if there is anything that you'd like me to check on while I am there, please let me know. I have absolutely no plans but to relax. By the way, was it Ken who designed the ashtrays? I certainly would love to get more, however, I am not going to pay $30 for a small one like I did at the Westin. In any case, the Westin is preparing the same deal for the RBC as I had the last time, even though the website shows they are sold out. I think that's pretty nice of them. I did ask them to spray the room for mosquitos prior to my arrival. |
Hey Diana,
speaking about Continental Airlines, do you still have more of the log book which you have got from one of the CO pilots? The one which you showed some of us during this year's Bali DO.... Cheers J777 |

Jubilee777 thank you for reminding me about them.
CGK do you think you could hook me up with your driver? |

Booked my tickets today - arrive on May 25th, but staying until the 31st. Wanted to stay a couple of extra days and wander on my own - experience the nightlife etc. (and that is when the SQ Raffles Class flight was available for the return)
Now, when do we worry about accomodations? |
MapleLeaf, welcome to the group!
As for worrying about accommodations... This year we had a "BaliDo Central" (the Westin) where most of the BaliDoers spent at least one (if not both) nights. Everyone had the option to stay wherever suited them, and we had no problems at all coordinating around that. For BaliDo2006, a few of us are already looking at some different properties for consideration for "BaliDo Central". Those being considered include the RC, Westin, Sandi Phala and Alila. Anyone who has any preferences (location, villas vs regular rooms, specific properties, etc) please feel free to send me a PM. Once we get some idea on group rates that might be available to us, we'll let everyone know what our options are and make a decision on "BaliDo Central" from there. Like this year, everyone may stay at "BaliDo Central" or at a property of their choosing. If you'd rather set up something on your own, book whenever you wish (although some properties, such as we've seen with spg, may not have their room availability uploaded yet). This year we had no problem with getting everyone picked up for whatever group activities we had planned. I'm sure it will be the same for 2006, we'll just need to coordinate enough drivers among ourselves. We were also really flexible this year - some of us stayed with the group the entire time, others did their own thing for part of the weekend, and others arrived late or departed early -- it was really "whatever works for you" :) As we get closer, we'll keep a running list of the attendees, flight arrival & departures, and where everyone is staying. |

Yeah welcome to Bali Do 2006, MapleLeaf. :)
You are on the list now. |
Tentative plan for Bali Do 2006 is now up on post #2. :)
|
And for those concerned about Friday night's menu...I'm told that there are non-seafood items on the menu which will work for those with seafood-related allergies |
Count me in. It's still early, but I should be able to make it.
Cheryl, I trust you will be in contact with RC to get a group rate? :) |
