Drinks in ANC - A Mini-Do

It's summertime in Alaska and some barhopping is in order! I'm willing to organize it, but does anyone want to suggest dates?

Any time during the week that ends in "day". We may need to narrow it down to a month though...

Oh yes. It's fun being up at 10pm in ANC during this time of year with the Sun still shining through the windows.

We could come later in August or early September, as long as it is a weekend when Jens is open.

We went up last summer, only to find Jens closed.

You can't get stuck on Jens. It's great but there are way to many other fabulous places to go.

Punki, Hunki, and I had a smashing evening there a couple summers ago....I think that's why Madam P brings it up.

I figured our destinations could depend on the crowd. I'm comfortable with Jen's or with Darwins. (Talk about extremes!) What do you suggest Bob W?

If we're just talking about drinks, then I would start at Bernie's, a martini bar downtown. From there we can "talk amongst ourselves".

If you want a light dinner & great atmosphere, I highly recommend the Peanut Farm. They just expanded & it's an awesome sports bar. It can be quiet (relatively) & fun or noisy & wild, depending on the crowd. Very cool new place.

I'd suggest Harry's for prime rib kabobs and Alaskan Amber but... they closed down last Monday! Oh the horror of it!

Alison

ps
Let's come up with a near date then a later date for a more formal get together that p/hunki can attend.

As Alison suggested, we'll have another get together when you are in town! This is just a "practice Do."
