I'm VERY intrigued!
I've got to be in GRB by 1400 on Sep 18 for a football game!!. If I could pull this off, I'd arrive late morning of Sep 16, leave very early Sep 18.

STR is Stuttgart Airport (Germany)
SXB is Strasbourg Entzheim (the official DO airport)
but since it's not that far away, and it's an airport, KLM is flying to, I did mention it. there are direct trains from Stuttgart to Strasbourg.

Thanks for airport clarification!
If I can snag an award seat on the mid-morning FRA-ORD on LH or AMS-ORD on KL on Sep 18, this could be a real possibility!

Somehow one of the regulars on this board wandered over to one of the long playing threads on the Delta board and spilled the beans (or should I say, the choucroute) to us about this Do. Nobody there had noticed it because of the placement on this thread and, without the sincere welcome from chrissxb, I would have thought that only FB members were welcome.
We love Alsace, and since we have been invited to the party, we will try to get there.
M. Richelieu, please put us down as Probable. There is still some scheduling to do and also there are a few things (such as a business emergency) that can keep us away.

There were no upgrades available on the 19th or 20th on any flights to the States so we will be happy to hang around either in Alsace or Germany for a few extra days. What a shame that we must spend two or three extra days drinking the Riesling. Not much of the really good stuff gets to the States.
Right now we are arriving CDG on Wednesday 14Sep and leave 21Sep from FRA either on Delta or USAir (2 reservations are better than none).

wow
a Skyteam do in SXB, a great place I've never visited.
That sounds mighty tempting...And I can earn lots of miles with a cheap fare on AZ to STR!
And the Novotel Centre has a non-changeable offer for €80 a night, that's less than half the prices I can see on the Hilton website.
If only I was sure about what I'll be up to by then... But do put me down as a maybe!
If anyone's looking for the absolute cheapest way of getting there, FR offer flights to FKB (linked to Strasbourg city centre via a €13 shuttle bus) from CIA, STN and Girona.
