New-FTers, addicted?
I stumbled across this site back in early March I think, I don't remember how, but I did. I joined and began lurking. I didn't know what I could contribute, so I didn't post. I am getting close to 100 posts now, the first milestone (at a decent clip too, pretty much all in the past 8 days I think, needless to say, better than when I first started).
I was wondering if anyone else was addicted to FT right off the bat (I am sure you were)?
At first I rationed it. If it was a beautiful day outside, I would tell myself that I was being crazy for not enjoying the weather. But now, I just stay up very late.
In the past 7-10 days, I have gone to bed at night probably 5-7 times. Otherwise, I am on FT until at least 4 AM. I pretty much know the Nick at Nite schedule by heart now, and now what channel to turn to at what time (leave the TV on at my desk here of course), and just read, read, post, read, read.
I love it, but I can't keep doing this, please help me.
Sincerely,
Scott in Nashville

I would say that many members have some level of addiction to FT. There are many forums that will gain the attention of each member. Of course, there is Omni where non-travelers can gain great addiction. FT is truly a community in itself. ^

I have checked FlyerTalk daily for almost seven years. Is that an addiction?
The best part about FlyerTalk is that is a wonderful way to make friends all around the world. That has truly enriched our lives.

It is addictive. I actually once "blocked" FT on my computer during a work deadline so I couldn't kill time (aka procrastinate) by surfing FT.
Its a great community - and chat/surfing trip reports has gotten me through many a boring night in a nowhere hotel when I was out of reading material and nothing was good on tv.

I joined FT a year or so ago and recently got really into reading the forums and trying to learn all I can about the travel market and how to maximize my travel (miles, points, fun, whatever!)
I have only been to one DO, the one in San Antonio which was awesome!!, and loved meeting all of the really cool people! I can honestly say that I cannot wait to see them again!
Corey, in Austin, TX!
PS - I travel to BNA all the time for work; I used to live there for 5 years until moving here. Nice city but I prefer AUS!
PPS - Oh and yea, I am so very addicted that its ridiculous! FT is the first thing I read when I wake up, first thing I read when I get in from work, and last thing I read before bed!
