The Singapore forum folks think it would be about S$25 each way. Let's not make plans other than to meet up after arrival. Then we can see who wants to do what and how many we are. It's sounding like food will be be a viable option until about 4am. I will see if can get the return boarding pass in NRT in advance to make things easier.

Yep. My stay will be much shorter. NW 5 arrives at 1:20 AM (and has been arriving 20-40 mins. late over the past week or so) and NW 6 departs at 6:05 AM. NW 6 usually starts to board around 5:15 AM. It looks like I will only have about 3-4 hours to kill in SIN before I have to get back on the plane so I will be staying airside in the terminal. Not that that is a bad thing as there is plenty to do at Changi, even in the middle of the night.

Feorlen, I would be happy to bring you in as my guest. The NW and UA gates are not all that far from each other. I am not sure how to work out the logistics of connecting with you as you will have to go through security when you get off of your arriving flight. Perhaps I can leave a message at the WC club reception desk to be on the look out for you.

Do you mean regular passport control, or something else? With such a short stay I want to make sure I can get to my next gate on time. I could come over to the WC and hopefully we can work this out.

I still have to see about getting my return boarding pass while I'm in NRT, too. What have I gotten myself into?

No. Not Passport Control but security screening such as WTMD and x-raying of hand luggage. This can take a while if you arrive when other incoming flights are being processed as the lines get kind of long.

Yes, once you get off the plane (and into the terminal if you come into a bus gate) as you follow the connections signage, you'll have to go through another security screening as mentioned above. Nothing major, but I"ve been able to run right through it with nobody in front of us, and I've had it take nearly an hour to clear depending on how many are still waiting from the flight before yours.

I'm not sure where the WorldClub is located at NRT, but if it helps y'all in coordinating, the RCC is next to gate 31.

Enjoy your time in SIN, I love it there and looking forward to getting back for a night at the end of May. As others have mentioned, definitely head out for some local food at one of the hawker centres such as Lau Pa Sat or Newton.

Maybe I should have picked up those chili crab cup-o-noodles in Sydney's Chinatown IGA when I had the chance...

Ewww. Well, at least I know in advance. It could end up being a tight connection after all.
