Wow, I just called the Blackhawk Golf Course and the guy on the phone informed me that the course went completely private as of January 1st! :eek: :(

Darn, I wish I had seen this thread sooner, I love to golf and I was thinking about a trip upto ORD. I have to use the four seasons gift cert that I won at work(and my fav fours seaons in in ORD).

Maybe the 21st might work, I will have to check some things.

If not, Nick and I have been talking about heading up to Madison to play University Ridge in early June. We are also planning a second DO in August.

If we have an out of town visitor, we'll have to pick a nicer course. Something that used to rank 4* from Golf Digest back in the Second Edition book before all the ratings inflation, such as Cantigny, Golf Club of Illinois, Cog #4, Harborside, etc.

I haven't, although I've looked at it. Right now, all it has are some of the county municipal courses, which aren't that great. I think that it has some better deals later in the summer.

no, Bismarck, ND. I will be around June 11th in Highland Park and July 7th and 8th in Chicago

June 11 may be the weekend that we go up to Madison, but if not I wouldn't mind playing Bonnie Brook (I can't remember if that's Highland Park or Lake Forest) as it's probably been 12-13 years since I've played there. One of the nastiest 1st holes I've ever seen in my life.

Nick, the after 2:00pm rate is only a difference of $7, would you rather play earlier? I have us reserved for 2:00pm regardless, let me know if I should call back and move us to an earlier tee time.
