?U@Now = Where you at now. Just something my friends ask me due to the travel.

I'm a home-grown bureaucratic lad...

Couldn't think of a username when I was registering; as I was flying CP quite a bit around that time, so I used their international J name - Club Empress. Can't count the number of times members here thought I was a gal because of my username. Didn't realize that until after I picked the name. :D

That's funny Empress, I always assumed you just spent a great deal of time at a certain Fairmont hotel in Victoria!

My username; I have (had?) respect for BBD and they did such great things through the 90s. Such a shame they chose to rest on their laurels while the competition moved forward....

So I am no longer basing the name on BBD, as of now it's because I am Canadian and I spend time in the air. :p

I just felt that I should be honest and state my pedigree (or affliction).

There's a thread on OMNI right now about this same thing, so I'll just repeat what I said there:

Mine is a product of not thinking through a username thoroughly enough. I thought it was funny, but I keep having to explain it. And everyone thinks I'm a guy!

Mine comes from the times I was flying CP. I was a big fan of these birds by then and was always looking to fly on them each time I could. At the time there was very few Airbus around and the typical choice on domestic was 737-200 or those F-28 ... So the new 767's were a pleasure to fly on.

I still have a laminate on my wall from the time they introduced them showing just the outline of the plane on a dark background... still like it, nice art work.

I don't go to OMNI very often.....prefer to stay in my own backyard... but I did find the old thread and it was not archived!

Minicooperman Nov 28, 2004 12:55 pm

I have this 'thing' about Mini Coopers.

People laugh at me because I am 6'3" and drive a Mini.

I used to restore them as a hobby until a few years ago. Brought my last project one all the way to Australia from Canada.

My little 35yr old Cooper..... I drive it every day.

MCM.

MapleLeaf Nov 28, 2004 1:07 pm

Quite simple actually... I got a mapleleaf tattoo on my leg when I moved to the U.S. and the nickname kinda stuck after that.

xray Nov 28, 2004 1:24 pm

I'm a radiologist: an x-ray doc....not very original, I must admit...it would be much cooler if I made up the name because I have x-ray vision or something like that...

back seat Nov 28, 2004 1:42 pm

My name came from where I sit 99% of the time.

Altaflyer Nov 28, 2004 1:48 pm

Pretty obvious. Hail from Alberta and like to fly :)
