Chicago dinner 05JAN or lunch 06JAN

I'll be in Chicago for one night. Anyone up for dinner on 05JAN? Alternatively, lunch on the 6th (tradition for me dictates the Walnut Room at Marshall Field's) or afternoon cocktails at O'Hare would work for me.

Darn, you're just going to miss dinner on the 6th. I'm going to be out of town the night of the 5th and coming back mid-morning on the 6th if Amtrak behaves; but if there are no crises at work I may be able to meet you for a quick lunch.

Edited link to the 1/6 dinner thread

I am staying at the Renaissance Chicago Hotel. How about meeting around 730-800P somewhere in that area? Alternatively, I could meet earlier in the evening near ORD or on the el line between ORD and downtown.

Sweet Willie, I am sure you can come up with something creative.

Oh great, pressure. I lean towards Le Lan but love to chow so anyplace is fine w/me.

Boston Blackie's for big burgers

Le Lan for French-Vietnamese cuisine

Shaws or Catch 35 for seafood

Chilpancingo or Frontera Grill/Topolobampo for upscale Mexican cuisine.

Nacional 27 for Latin/Caribbean cuisine

Caf Iberico for tapas

Smith & Wollensky or Gene & Georgettis for steaks

Pizzeria Due for Chicago deep dish

There are a couple of cabbie Pakistani joints in the River North area also.

Dave -- you must get well! I do not want to be sitting next to someone with the flu all the way from ORD-SIN and back...

Seriously, I really do hope you're feeling better soon! And feel free to join us tomorrow evening at 1492 if you're up to it! (See holmedown's thread about New Year in Cgo) Otherwise, see you next Thursday!
