So now since I don't have time to get over there again to return the unit before 12/31, I have to shell out $50 at Jewel tonight for a new unit and new account and then return the other one some time and to close that account.

I'm definately available (and single!!!
). sorry
How does Cafe Spiaggia sound? I also wouldn't mind The Palm, but seeing as how some of you recently dined there, there could be some resistance.

As long as it's not Thai/Viet (peanuts in too many dishes), I'm relatively easy. Steak, tapas (1492 is a lot quieter than Iberico, however), whatever. Just tell me when and where to show up.

Okay, so far for rec's we have (in no particular order)... & reviews for all are on Metromix.com
Cafe Iberico (tapas; a party on the weekends but I"ve not been there during the week to comment on a Thursday night atmosphere)
1492 (also tapas; definitely more quiet than Iberico)
Cafe Spiaggia (nice Italian but not quite as upscale or pricey as Spiaggia)
The Palm (becoming a local FT favorite for upscale steak)
Flat Top Grill (another local FT favorite); all-you-can-eat stir fry where you pick the ingredients & sauces yourself, home of the infamous chocolate storm & horny monkey)
Any other suggestions? Preferences????

You only need a frock if you wish to wear one.
1492 and Flat Top you'll be fine in jeans or khakis, Palm I'd wear khakis (or something similar). After your last dining experience with us (at least the dessert part), you should've figured out we tend to be a bit casual around here

I have arrived .... at last - after taking off from Heathrow a few minutes early - only to be landing there again and hour later with mechanical failure.
Anyway finally took off again and arrived in ORD allbeit 3 hours later than originally planned, but at least in one piece !

If we did Flat Top, it would most likely be the one at 1000 W. Washington (they're getting to know us there, yet still allow us in despite bringing our own whipped cream one time
). If you're not familiar with transfers between the red & green lines (subway/el), I'd recommend a cab.
If that narrows it down to the other two, it depends on what everyone is hungry for -- either tapas or steak. Input, anyone????
Reservations should be pretty easy to get for Thursday night, I'll make them once everyone decides where we'd like to go & what time. (I like all three places)
