Camp Flyer Talk 2005
On my flight from MIA-DFW today, I grabbed the latest copy of American Way magazine (Bernie Mac). An article in this issue discussed summer camps for 2005. Camps now cover everything: academic, arts, self-improvement, religious camps, summer in Europe, competitive sports, etc...
Well, who's on board for Camp Flyer Talk 2005?
Surely we could field a team of guest speakers from our distinguished group of members. For every area, there seems to be a resident expert.
-Accumulating miles without digging in dumpsters (unless you are at Cinemark)
-Mileage runs - why take a taxi when you could go from JFK-EWR by way of NRT with stops in LHR and MEX?
-Choosing the right car rental company
-Hurricanes and how they affect your travel
-Maximize your credit cards without maxing them out
-Starwood for beginners
-Blackberry v. Treo
-Sleeping in airports
-Understanding the TSA: "Is that a corkscrew in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?"
The list could go on forever.
-What to do when your seatmate wears too much cologne and other things your Bose QuietComfort 2 headphones won't help.
-Eating on the plane: warm nuts, Bistro Bags, FEBO, mastering plasticware
-Rope or no rope: The closet lavatory isn't always the right lavatory.
-A FAM took my FC seat, now what do I do?
-How many HHonors Points for the "Paris Hilton" (includes lab on proper videotaping techniques)
-Orphaned miles: trade NonePass to UA by transferring to Amtrak
What do you think? Is this someplace you would send your child???

I volunteer to teach:
"Mileage Running and Solo Travel for Under 21's" As someone who has been mileage running since he was 17 I think I can do a very good job. Such topics covered will be:
- Best cities to get around in when you can't rent a car
- Getting around hotels who want you to be 21
- Getting into Airline Lounges at under 21
- Flying abroad: The drinking age is 18 there!
