Wanting to put together a MR/"Do" for the Columbus Day weekend, noting some great FT ideas already posted/in the works: "Springtime in EZE" possiblity (fares too high for me now, but watching) and there's the "Fall Foliage/ME Do" (coming from midwest would like to work in a lot more miles than the ME flights (esp.since for me it's a 3-day weekend).
I'd like to see what others would be interested in. Some options include, but aren't limited too...
1. LAX (not nonstop of course
) Fares aren't bad from the midwest--($159-170 r/t on AA: STL,ORD,SEA,SFO,LAX; or just STL,ORD, SFO, LAX, etc. arriving LAX Fri. nite and leaving LAX Monday morning with all Sat. & Sun in L.A. and all of Columbus Day to earn miles coming home
2. Eurpoe: Fly overnight Friday night, with Sat. & Sun. to enjoy the destination, & return Sun. night or Mon. Right now, AA's fall fares aren't kicking in until after 10/15 'tho, but that might change. AA tells me that LHR usually offers the most options and is usually the cheapest from US among European destinations....but that also could change....
3. "Mystery MR/"Do"---there's always the possibility of just taking a chance on what site59 might turn up last minute.
4. Hawaii: w/ AA, hard to get to HNL after work on Friday sooner than Saturday & have to return Sun. afternoon (Mon. flights don't get back in time for work on Tues...unless I'm missing something)
Well, just thought I'd throw my $0.02 out there....other ideas/interest???
