Just moved to CLE. Any FT activity?

Hi

I just moved to CLE. Any DOs or gatherings planned?
If not, anybody want to get together?

Lousy timing! Up through this past May, I've been there at least 1x/month for the past 4 years. Change in work allocations means I'm now there 3-4x/year. I'll definitely post on my late fall trip (next month's trip is heading out to Put In Bay for the weekend )

Since I'm new, I'll leave it up to everyone else. I am in Cleveland Hts, but don't mind traveling local. I am OOT 7/21 - 25 but anytiome after that or even Tues (5/20) eve is fine.

Looking forward to meeting.

I'd should be free on Aug 12th... I live very, very close to the Embassy Suites downtown, but anywhere at all is fine with me.... Any particular place or type of food in mind? Fat Cat's in Tremont is a favorite of mine, only a 10 min drive or there's several places downtown too...

Last time I was there I ate at some place with Dick in the name. It was down in the Flats. Is the correct way to describe that area down by the water. Dick's Last Resort? It was fun and good food.

Well, only living here for 3 years, I'd have to say that describing the Cleveland area in general as "Flat" (in more ways than one) would be accurate!!

But, you're right, Dick's Last Resort is on the East Bank of the Flats -- if you want something outside, and casual, right across the river is Shooters, decent food, nice outside deck -- it does get loud and sometimes crowded later in the evening... this is Cleveland after all, things usually don't too out of control.... D'Vine Wine Bar is also downtown, but mostly drinks, with some light bar type food offerings, Metropolitan which is a little more upscale is good, Viva is suppose to be good, although I haven't been there yet...

So it looks like Aug 12 is a go.

Lets pick the place and post it as a DO.

I would love to meet at that Metropolitan place. My cousin tells me that it is only a half block from either hotel and on Thu nite the place should be hopping. It is both a bar and a restaurant so we can all meet in the bar for drinks for an hour before dinner, and see the scene as the bar is right in the middle of the restaurant. Is all this correct? If so, is it okay with everyone if we meet there for our

CLE DO

Thumbs up

Yep, Metropolitan is a good spot, 1/2 block more or less from the Marriott and the Renaissance -- the bar does over look the main dining room, and there is also a downstairs room, but that is mostly for meetings. They also have some outside sidewalk seating too, and there is a few other places on the corner where Metropolitan is, so there is people watching outside as well.

The whole Thursday being the new weekend is just (years later) catching on in Cleveland, so it's variable on Thursday nights out, but the crowd should be decent as the other places in the Warehouse district are all within 2 blocks walking.

Anytime works for me, but should we say 7:30?
