DFW, NOLA, LAX & Bakersfield Travel Gigs

Okay, this looks kinda fun. Just posted the LOS gig in the Intins.

No flight details yet for August, but right now confirmed client gigs are for:

1. L.A./Bakersfield: Evenings of 31 Jul & 6 Aug for L.A. and 1-5 Aug for Bakersfield. I am also interested in seeing the Norton Simon museum in Pasadena on Sun 1 Aug. For 31 Jul and 6 Aug any dinner/drink event, I am usually at the Westin LAX for L.A. Bakersfield lodging not sure yet, any evening dining.

2. DFW: 8-12 Aug. Any evening dining. Lodged at Marriott Irving,TX.

3. NOLA 22-26 Aug. Any evening dining. Lodged at Intercontinental.

Cheers,

Z

Exclamation

Next time, it's probably better to post these as separate threads.. or at least reflect the destination & dates in the thread title..

I think that what izzik was trying to say is that you will probably get a better response if you have a thread that is titled:

"DFW: 8-12 Aug. Would love to meet FlyerTalkers for dinner any night."

Or something like that. Then folks who will be there will be more likely to read the thread and respond.

Now this is serendipitous and fun. One night we struck up a conversation with a gentleman at the couresty shuttle bus stop at LAX (well, I think it was LAX) and our chat went to the subject of travel, to FlyerTalk and then on to the discovery that the gentleman in question was izzik's dad. I thereafter met izzik in Hong Kong, of all places.

FlyerTalk makes the world a much smaller, friendlier place. ^

Right, I got it Punki. I looked at some of the other threads. There is a lot of traffic on this board, and hints like that will make the post stand out.

That's funny about meeting Izzik's dad. That's the type of stuff I was referring to in that post I made about the "The Circle". Stuff like that seems to happen to me all the time.

Cheers,

Z

Z, you may want to PM the moderator to close out this thread & then create separate threads for the dates/places above & when you're available to meet, such as Punki & izzik mentioned above.

Also, as a rule of them (this is just for me), unless I'm setting up a Do (whether for single meal or weekend event) in which case some or way advance notice is required, I usually post hey, I'm going to be around/anyone want to get together closer to dates of actual time so that the threads don't get lost.

If you scroll through the threads you'll get the idea of titles/details/timeframes etc.

Yes, the title of this thread might suggest that there are some FT get-togethers or meetups occurring in Costa Rica.

That might not be a bad idea, but it clearly wasn't the intention here!

Also, think about posting to the FT get-together calendar. (Another thread indicates that we can all post to it now, without needing special privilege.)

Oh, by the way -- do you carve and paint wooden oxcarts in your spare time?

Hahahahaha! Do you think Don Beto's B&B could handle all of us?

No! Those are them people down the road a bit. Isn't awful? What was once a nice hidden custom has become a horrid tourist trap.

Hey, but how about those wood carvings in the churches of those three Shangri-La cities? [Grecia-Sarchi-Zarcero] .

Per Zarcero's direction to me, we'll close this thread and he'll post individual threads as get-together opportunities arise. Ocn Vw 1K, Co-Moderator.
