Dinner in NYC, 14 Jul

I'll be in the NYC area for vacation and have talked to a few FTer's in the area and would like to have a little DO for dinner. We are looking to have it on 14 Jul around 8:00pm.

Anyone else in the area is welcome to join us. Catman and I will be finding a place to go and look forward to others.

Look forward to seeing everyone on the 14th.

Edited to add restaurant picked:

Here is a list of people who have responded.

Two suggested restaurants

Decisions... decisions...

NCR Bill... I'm going to throw out two suggested places, both Flyertalk favorites:

West Bank Cafe on West 42nd street
http://westbankcafe.com/dinner.html

Cite Restaurant on West 51st street
http://www.citerestaurant.com

NCR take a look at both and I'll make you the call. I personally love them both.

Thanks and hopefully some other FLyertalkers can join us!

Someday I'll be able to afford to come to these get-togethers. I can't live in Manhattan & afford to eat in expensive restaurants!

If you all ever decide to go "slumming" at a cheaper restaurant, do let me know. :-:

Cateman,

Do you have a website for each of these places? I've looked them up but can't find them.

NCR Bill... sorry about forgetting the websites. They are there now. As I said, both are terrific.

Analise... I'm sorry that Flyertalkers have a tendency to pick expensive places. Have you checked out the thread for the lunch/brunch with Flamboyant at La Bonne Soupe?

http://www.labonnesoupe.com/grp_menu34.htm

We have a brunch there on Sunday, July 18.

I think that Flyeratlkers pick a variety of places of a variety of price ranges. I try to avoid the more expensive places for something I think most people can afford and still get good food.

One place we got together was Simply Pasta on West 41st street... which has most main courses under 10 dollars.

I can vouch for all 3 places. They are all great! And Catmans company is the best! I only wish that I could be there...

Count me in as a tenative yes. I should be working in NYC that day, but I am leaving the next evening for the second third of my RTW mileage run (JFK-LAX-SCL-GIG-SCL-JFK-HKG-NRT-JFK) and may decide I need to be home to pack and what not. Any place is fine for me.

The two resturants I like are...

either Cite or Bello at 56th street and 9th ave.

Please give me some feedback and we will pick which one we will meet at. The time can be moved earlier if need be also. As I will be on vacation, I'm open to anything as I'm not tied down.

Thanks for the help.

Allow me to say Bello is ^ . Been eating there at least 2x's a year for about 10 years.

You can eat pasta for low $ teens, or a stuffed veal chop ( nightly special) for mid-$20's. Service makes you feel at home.

If possible, I'll join you subject to my schedule.

By the way, free parking in the indoor garage around the corner. ^
