Thanks tom911 and MapleLeaf for all the cheaper lodging info. I have an 2 bedroom apartment reserved at the moment for 200.00 per night. I can share it with at least one other person which brings the cost down to 100.00 per night. Then even cheaper if I share with more people.
I figure I'll wait out the next few days until I have tickets in hand before I do any more research.

cheapest private rooms in Reykjavik
The City Hostel mentioned earlier had no private rooms available during my dates (6/18-6/22).

So I booked the Hotel Gardur, a university dorm that converts to a guesthouse in the summer. $110 for a double room, but no private bathroom.

Well, I'd like to suggest a get together on Sunday the 27th somewhere in KEF - not sure where (never been to Iceland)
I'll be in town on the 27th night & the 30th night - but I'm renting a car on the 28th & heading out of town, returning on the 30th (not sure where I'm going & where I'm sleeping, but it'll be a 2-day roadtrip in another country - I'll bring my sleeping bag & maybe even my tent)
Anyone else interested in the 27th??

DFWTripGuy and Prncess674 flying BWI-KEF-BWI outbound 6/30 return 7/4. I am not booking hotels, etc till I know for sure they are going to honor the tickets! If all goes well I will be looking to taste some of the local libations!

Being the optimist I am, booked a room in a guesthouse for 70 euro (10% discount if cash) for the 2 nights I am there. Single room in City Centre shared bath (will remind me of college). Free breakfast. E-mail is [email protected]. Haven't traded any CC info yet, they said I could mail for fax it to them to hold the room.........soooooooooo are we going or not?
