Mileage Run the Hard Way...

...seat of the pants, driving the Cherokee and pulling a trailer with my mom and her bf in it(in the Cherokee with me, not in the trailer, I mean), as I move off the sailboat in california and onto the family farm in Virginia.

If anyone has any great roadside kitsch suggestions, we are open to lots of fun sightseeing. The more unusual the better.

We hope to do a bunch of primitive BLM camping... (with the occasional Ritz-Carlton $50 discount thrown in here and there... just for a hot shower, you know? ). Any tips on fave camping spots or swimming holes?

Anyone up for a cuppa coffee along the way? Let me know!

We will leave HAF May 3 at the earliest, May 6th at the latest. Then make our way to FVX via:

PSP

PHX

P04 to stay at The Shady Dell.

BOU

MSP to visit a special friend!

ORD

CVG

MGW

PIT

then on to the farm... whew.

I suggest a detour thru NYC.

BTW, will you be attending the Freddies?

Will do, jan... thanks.

Dan, I have good news and bad news. I will NOT be at the Freddies as I cannot with the move. (BTW, that is the bad news).

But I have a new "special friend" in NYC, I think. Maybe. I hope. Anyway, I hope to vist soon after my move to the east coast. My new friend lives in Manhattan but you can't have everything!

Unhappy Goodbye, GoodKarmaGuy!

Are we going to be able to bid adieu before your move?

That would mean SOON.... within the next week or so!

Let me know when you get to Phoenix-- it would be nice to meet you. Interesting that you're headed to Bisbee. I've heard a lot of nice things about it, but have not ventured there yet.

Well, I am waffling on it. I would really, really like to stay there (at the Shady Dell) but it just might be too far out of the way.

For PHX or MSP(oooooh, Comicwoman!I was hoping I would hear from you!), or any town, we could have a little FT dinner? I could start another thread if someone thought those things would work.... ummmm..... or maybe that would be too many GKG threads. That would be weird.

I will have firmer dates in about a week.

Arrow Organizing a farewell party at Firewood Cafe (18th & Diamond, SF)

I just chatted with GoodKarmaGuy online and we've agreed to have a little "farewell" get-together either Monday (April 26) or Tuesday (April 27) evening, at a favorite place of his, the Firewood Cafe at 18th and Diamond Sts. in San Francisco.

Let me know which day, Monday or Tuesday, will work for y'all.

I will post this on a separate thread once the date has been decided upon!
