RIP NormCPA
I'm sorry to share that NormCPA died today after a lengthy struggle with cancer. He was valiant throughout and returned from his last trip just a month ago. He will be best known to those who post in the AA forum and who have attended San Diego get togethers. My husband and I became friends with him and his wife thanks to those meals. We learned that we shared a passion for travel to remote corners of the world and inspired each other as to where to travel. We traveled to Bhutan this year with a lot of coaching from the two of them. They traveled to Uzbekistan and Ethiopia after we had great trips to both places. We got together in North Macedonia and Thessaloniki. We had a meal together just 3 weeks ago where he was in great spirits. We thought we had a few more months to enjoy him but it was not to be.

Norm had a remarkable life and I enjoyed reading his obituary. The part that will resonate with this crowd:
Norm hated winter and adored living in La Jolla, a few blocks from the beach. He also loved to travel with his family and became quite expert in accumulating airline miles and hotel points, which he utilized for dozens of international excursions. He and Judi visited all 50 states in the U.S.A., every continent except Antarctica (because he hated cold weather), and 111 of the 195 countries recognized by the United Nations.
