The Yellow Tag Strikes Again
I was returning from a weekend mileage run... BUF-IAD-JFK-SFO-SAN-SFO-JFK-IAD-BUF on Sunday evening.
I had a wonderful dinner and got to meet SanDiego1K when in SAN.
I was waiting for the airport parking shuttle at 11:00 pm in BUF when someone beside me said "Nice Tag". Turns out he was admiring my beautiful Flyertalk Luggage Tag.
So, I finally got to meet jcooke who was also returning from a mileage run. He was actually on the same flight I was on from IAD.
We had a nice conversation on our way to our cars.... and our rides back to Rochester.
SO, everyone, get to Randy FT Store and get you a few of those tags... you never know who you will meet.

Who needs tags? Don't you just run into people on the streets of HKG?

The tags are great. It's been a while but my only sighting was in the US Club in PHL. I was on my way to AMS and spotted a FT tag and had the fortune to meet mileshound. Yes, get the tags!

I got the tags for my recent SYD trip just hoping that someone would ask me about them. Sadly, no-one did. They did make my luggage easier to spot on the carousel though.

Wow, I missed this post totally!
I've met up with a bunch of them during the '03 Thanksgiving in London but this was my first random FT member spotting.
I was also returning from a long day BUF-IAD-PIT-BWI-PHL-IAD-BUF mileage run. My body was exhausted but I was still smiling inside because I had just completed my first true run. As wharvey had said we had both just returned from the IAD-BUF leg of our trips and ran into each other out at the shuttle. As soon as I saw the yellow tag I was like "way cool" on the inside as this was totally unexpected. Meeting another FT member doing what FT members do best - earn miles.
Nevertheless the next day I ordered a FT tag.

Blue eyes, yes. Blonde surfer-boy, hardly.

Well...reading about this chance encounter by two FT'ers whom I highly respect was the kick in the pants I needed to order my own set of luggage tags.

What are you thanking him for? He was clearly referring to these two highly respected FTers! (or these two)

I attempted to introduce myself to someone in a hotel hallway one night after I noticed the tags on her suitcase. It turned out that they it was some kind of Delta (I think) priority tag that looked just like my FT tags but were a slightly different color. How embarassing!

The AMS photo is a FT classic!
I've seen the DL Priority baggage tags several times and mistaken them for FT tags. Good thing I don't fly through ATL very often!

OTOH, you might get priority handling on your bags from DL!

I was sitting on a bus from an ex-LIS flight to the terminal at LHR, yakking on my phone, when a person noticed and commented on my FT tag on my backpack !
Turns out it was Aerotec and friend returning from an F trip to HKG, and I was beginning an F trip to Boston.
We spoke for a few minutes as we transitted ....
First time I have met someone randomly because of my FT Tag ...
